Trial API Broken - 5 month Anniversary

Congratulation Garmin - The Trial API has been broken for the best part of 5 months now and you still haven't said a word about what if anything you plan on doing to fix it.

  • I was at the 2017 summit when this was introduced, and in talking to others at the time, it would be hard to implement what's needed for a payment system and might make more sense if there was a payment system already in place.

Since then I don't think I've seen even 10 apps in the store that use this.

  • Jim - I've used this functionality since June 2020. It broke when the website was updated in February

Either fix it, or say that it won't be fixed so I can move on and deal with it.

I don't want to transition across to my own unlock mechanism unless I absolutely have to. It's not that it's difficult or anything. I actually do this for one of my watch faces so the back end infrastructure is there already.

The problem is that I now have hundreds of users that I have to transition across to the new unlock method if they ever want to be able to receive updates. I can probably do this by creating coupons for each of my existing customers and then getting them to re-purchase the app again without the need to pay for this.

This would be an absolute nightmare and not something I'm keen to inflict on my customers hence why I'm still holding out for a fix 5 months later.

If this is not going to be fixed then someone needs to say so. Not commenting is just <insert your favorite 4 letter expletive here> me and all of my customers off.
