I am using my own font, and one that I have been using for years. It includes the temperature degree symbol [°] which is char id = 176 which has been used plenty and successfully previously.
But now in the Simulator (SDK 8.1.1) it sometimes shows as a missing character (outline of a rectangle).
I have tried multiple variances:
changing the Unit in the Sim
Re-running the build multiple times
Reverting to 8.1.0
Resetting All App Data, Delete All Apps and Reset Simulator, then close it and delete the bin directory, and close VS Code
Simulate using a different watch
Sometimes or eventually it does not fail, and once it does work it seems to work for a while and using different watches etc., but then it eventually will fail again.
My conclusion is: I cannot reliable or constantly re-produce this bug.
I am using Windows 11, Monkey C 1.1.2, VS Code 1.99.3 (dated 2025-04-15T23:18:46.076Z)
