[BUG] Settings groups don't work on Connect IQ iPhone app

There are two issues:

1.  Settings groups look and function differently between the sim and Connect IQ.  In sim, groups are simply demarcated using a horizontal line while in Connect IQ each group is a sub-page.  See attached pics.

2. In Connect IQ app, tapping on a group name opens a sub-page.  On the sub-page the Save button seems to do nothing.  When going back to main settings page, the Save button has disappeared.

Attached is a simple program that can be used to repro the issues.

This makes settings groups unusable Disappointed

  • From my experience bugs that are not core CIQ SDK related are getting hardly noticed / passed to the relevant teams, so I started to report them directly in Garmin Customer Support. If you still have this problem maybe it's worth to report it on https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?contactOverride=true&productID=616398&tab=topics

    Since it look that currently this iOS isue is the last thing that holds back many devs to release apps using settings groups, let's "help" to Garmin to fix this.

    Another trick: when I report in Chat it's a 1-off thing, I report and never hear back from them. When I report in email then many times they reply after a few days and ask for more details / screenshots / screen recording.

  • Yes, I've had the same experience with support.  I was hoping this was the better place to report bugs.  Garmin needs a single bug reporting tool.  This system  of poking at different parts of the company is beyond stupid... :( :(
