SDK Manager does not start, says "Problem opening the SDK Manager"

I have a freshly installed Eclipse 2020_03 (4.15.0) and ciq 3.1.8 SDK on Windows 10 System.

When I click SDK Manager in the Windows-> Preferences ->Connect IQ Tab the consoles states "Problem opening the SDK Manager"

  • I apologize about the delay in responding to your request. I have been able to look back into this and saw the problem myself. I believe it happens when there isn't a file path to save SDK downloads too. You just need to click on SDK Manager under Windows > Preferences > Connect IQ and then select the file location of your SDKs. Once you do that the box below the directory path should populate with the SDKs usable.

    No, Eclipse was not installed on this machine before. I's fairly new and I also checked the files to make sure. I installed Eclipse to a custom path that is C:\eclipse_java\eclipse\. I had Eclipse installed on my old machine, so I thought maybe I got some of the old files by the windows profile synchronization, but the creation date of the folders you mentioned and their content are all the same as the current installation.

  • Did your machine previously have Eclipse on it? If so, the uninstall process doesn't get rid of these directory files:
    * ~/eclipse

    * ~/.eclipse

    * ~/.p2

    So you may need to uninstall eclipse, delete those directories and then reinstall it.
