Screenshot with the shortcut Ctrl+S doesn't work in simulator

In the simulator (4.1.1) according to the File menu I should be able t take a screenshot with the shortcut Ctrl+S, however it gives the following error message:

No values defined
This app does not have any saved any objects
from Application.Storage.setValue()

Clicking on File > Save Screen Capture using the mouse works.

Note also the typo in the error message: "This app does not have any saved any objects" (the word "any" is twice there)

  • Sorry about the mix-up! I should have recognized you're using Linux, but it obviously didn't click when I was looking into this. We were able to reproduce this on Linux, so will investigate a fix.

  • OK, so many different things...

    1. I am on Ubuntu, but I don't think that really matter

    2. My bug report was about not about accelerator keys (I didn't even know there's such a thing until now :) I think they are called shortcuts or hot key, anyway if you look at the screenshot I attached to this comment, you'll see that the 1st menu item under File is "Save Screen Capture      Ctrl+S". I'm talking about this "Ctrl+S", This can't be mistaken, no matter what it is called. and it doesn't work in my Ubuntu 20.04.

    3. Regarding the underlines and accelerator keys: well, funny enough but even the accelerator key of Save Screen Capture doesn't work, at least not too conveniently: Alt+F indeed opens the File menu. But then "pressing" S doesn't do anything. To explain it better: Alt+F+S (press Alt, press F, press S) does open the file menu and does nothing else. What does work, but is not too intuitive is: "Alt+F, release Alt, S".

  • Accelerator keys are different from keyboard shortcuts.

    The underline that you see under the S character for that menu item is an accelerator key. On Windows, to take a screenshot with accelerator keys, you press ALT, then F (for &File) then S (for &Save Screen Capture). To open the Settings dialog you would press ALT, then F (&File) P (Edit &Persistent Storage), then S (Edit Application.&Storage Data).

    There is no keyboard shortcut to do a screen capture, and I'm pretty confident there has never been one.

  • The Save Screen Capture feature doesn't have a default hot key, but ctrl+s (cmd+s on Mac) is associated with editing Application Storage data.
