Profiler: unable to select app debug.xml due to being greyed out/disabled in Finder popup on Mac

macOS Sonoma 14.0

SDK 7.2.1

(VS Code Extension 1.0.11)

(VS Code 1.92.2)

I'm trying to load a PRF file generated by my Venu 3 watch into the CIQ profiler. After clicking Load in the profiler, I can successfully choose the lumeoface.PRF file. The next step is to "Open App Debug Xml File". The lumeoface.prg.debug.xml file is greyed out and disabled in the Mac Finder popup, so I can't select it. The Open button is also greyed out.

Issue was originally reported here - please see screenshot in that thread, as I'm unable to attach here due to "file quota restrictions":

https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/discussion/381565/loaded-prf-into-profiler-but-then-unable-to-select-debug-xml-from-mac-finder-file-is-greyed-out

where FlowState found a workaround, which was to right-click the greyed out file and select Rename: this enables the Open button. Using this workaround, the .debug.xml can be loaded successfully into the profiler.

Parents
  • Note that on Windows, the corresponding filters are:

    - *.prf

    - *.prg.debug.xml

My best educated guess is that an extension filter of prg.debug.xml simply won't work in macOS, bc it's not an extension.
