Summary
A device app calls Communications.makeOAuthRequest() with OAUTH_RESULT_TYPE_URL. With the watch paired to an iPhone, most calls never reach the phone: no notification in Garmin Connect, and the request URL is never loaded (our server logs no hit). Occasionally one gets through. The same build on a Forerunner 965 paired to an Android phone works every time.
Steps
Pair a Venu Sq 2 with an iPhone; Garmin Connect open, notifications allowed.
Install the app fresh.
Call makeOAuthRequest several times, a few seconds apart. registerForOAuthMessages is called at app start; the call does not throw.
Expected: a Garmin Connect notification for each call, opening the web view.
Actual:
Most calls: nothing on the phone, no request to the URL.
When one gets through and the flow reaches the result URL, Garmin Connect shows "An error occurred while signing in" with Cancel / Retry, although the result data is delivered to the app.
Making the request URL unique on every call made no difference.
Works: Forerunner 965 + Android, same build.
