Instinct 3 Solar 1-field layout: device reference seems to indicate that field can't draw on the subscreen, while simulator indicates the opposite

It would be nice for the simulator and device reference to be aligned, and for the device reference to be *explicit* about whether or not CIQ data fields can draw to the subscreen, in all circumstances (including both Instinct 3 Solar / Instinct E and Instinct 2).

See comment for relevant screenshots.

Notes:

- For Instinct 3 Solar's *other* data field layouts, the subscreen is blacked out, indicating that CIQ fields cannot draw on it. (And indeed, the field count for those layouts does *not* include the subscreen. e.g. 2-field layout means 2 fields not including the subscreen. If a CIQ field in the 1-field layout truly cannot draw on the subscreen, then I would expect the subscreen to be blacked out in the same way. If a CIQ field in the 1-field layout can draw on the subscreen, then I would expect the subscreen to *not* be blacked out in the device reference

- For Instinct 2, the layout field count *does* include the subscreen (e.g. Instinct 2's 3-field layout is equivalent to Instinct 3 Solar's 2-field layout), and the simulator incorrectly suggests that CIQ fields can be assigned to the subscreen, although this is not the case on a real device

Parents
  • Device reference:

("blacks out" the subscreen, which seemingly indicates that the subscreen can't be drawn on, although as mentioned in another bug report, this is not 100% clear)

    Simulator:

allows data field in 1-field layout to draw on subscreen
