I downloaded the rock climbing function to use with my watch and it is extraordinarily clunky and not useful at all for tracking training sessions. Best Usable features would be Time on Wall (ToW), Time Resting (WITHOUT having to record the grade), accumulated ascent (Don't want average. Just accumulation), and heart rate. A watch isn't a good place to record failure/success and few climbers would want it for that. We can just record that in the notes section later. I think the climbers with watches would want to use them primarily for training sessions, usually volume sessions. I can sort of make this happen with the watch now except for accumulated ascent. That just always shows as zero, which is not helpful. But lapping for switching between on/off the wall would be very easy.
It would be sweet if I could load things as rock climbing and see the data spread for that sport instead of having to show it as something else and then convert it and have all the data just be a little off. I don't care that I went zero horizontal miles - I was climbing! I love the presentation of data for running/riding on Garmin Connect, but with rock climbing as my primary sport, it would be awesome to have that on there, too.
Thanks!
