Glance launcher icon not shown on Edge x40 devices

I have received a user report that on an Edge 540 my glance does not display an icon.

After raising this in the forum, it appears that other apps are affected as well. The issue seems to have been introduced with one of the recent firmware updates.

It appears to affect only x40 devices. On x50 devices the icons are displayed, apart from some unrelated rendering issues.

    The “not very nice” behavior occurs on the x50 devices. The only connection to the x40 is that the issue on the x50 demonstrates that some processing is happening. In theory, that same processing could be involved in the issue on the x40, but that is a long shot and purely speculative.
