Descent Mk2/Mk2i removed from Store compatibility despite valid descentmk2 target

Hello,

I am the developer of RadioRanger, a published Connect IQ Device App.

App ID: b45a8337-4c42-4fc6-8b2a-0250c6ec514b
Current version: 2.0.0
Connect IQ SDK: 9.2.0

I am reporting what appears to be a device compatibility mapping issue affecting Descent Mk2 / Mk2i.

My manifest explicitly contains:

<iq:product id="descentmk2"/>

with:

minApiLevel="3.4.0"

The SDK 9.2.0 device definition for descentmk2 reports:

displayName: Descent Mk2 / Mk2i
deviceGroup: API level 3.4

It also contains both hardware part numbers:

006-B3258-00 — Connect IQ 3.4.5
006-B3702-00 — Connect IQ 3.4.5

Therefore both variants satisfy the application's minimum API level.

The application exports successfully:

46 OUT OF 46 DEVICES BUILT
BUILD SUCCESSFUL

There are no export warnings.

When version 2.0.0 is uploaded, the Connect IQ upload validator reports:

Status: Verified
Signature: Verified

and Descent MK2 appears in the Compatible Devices list.

However, after Store processing, Descent Mk2 / Mk2i is missing from the Store compatible-device list.

This creates a reproducible discrepancy:

SDK 9.2.0: Descent Mk2 / Mk2i supported
Manifest: descentmk2 included
Minimum API: satisfied by both part numbers
Export: successful
Upload validation: Descent MK2 compatible
Store listing: Descent Mk2 / Mk2i removed

Could you please check the Connect IQ Store device mapping for the descentmk2 target, particularly part numbers 006-B3258-00 and 006-B3702-00?

Please note that descentmk2 is the SDK device ID for both Descent Mk2 and Mk2i; there is no separate descentmk2i target in SDK 9.2.0.

Thank you.

  • Thanks, Brandon. That makes sense and explains the Store behavior.
    I appreciate you looking into the discrepancy between the monetization documentation and the App Store configuration for the Descent Mk2/Mk2i.

  • The reason this has occurred is because monetization support is not enabled on the App Store for these product part numbers, so the store hides them as compatible products when an app is monetized. I'm still looking into why these products have monetization support disabled since our documentation states these should be supported. I know the Descent Mk2 series products were not in our original set of products that supported monetization on launch, so it's possible our documentation is incorrect. However, since they're essentially fenix 6 Pro variants, perhaps they were a later addition for monetization support.
