[BUG] Connect IQ app erroneously shows "Update" when newer version is installed using Garmin Express

Repro:

- Install an app with say version N

- In Dev Dashboard upload the app and give it a higher version N+1

- In Dev Dashboard select Download and open Garmin Express to sync and install the new version

- Open Connect IQ on the phone (iPhone in my case)

Notice that CIQ thinks the app has an update even though what is on the watch is a newer version.  The problem with that is that CIQ attempts the update, showing the busy spinner, and prevents one from getting to the app Settings until CIQ gives up.

This slows down development/testing of the app, having to wait for CIQ to erroneously update to an older version.

  • By the way, if you turn "Auto update" off in then Connect IQ mobile app, it prevents the on-device version from being overwritten with the prior version that it seems to think is the new version.  I kept noticing my watch reverting back to an old version of my watch face randomly, which seems to be caused by this bug.  But since switching that setting off, it seems to be staying on the version that I load onto the device by Garmin Express.
