This ended up being a mobile app problem. It was fixed in Android and iOS versions 2.2.

Can't install apps - watch is up to date, garmin iq says it needs an update

I did install one watchface every few days - whenever I try this it does not work - I own my watch for 3-4 weeks now and needed to add/remove my device to my account a few times already just to correct this bug.

Android Connect IQ store looks like following (it tells me I need to update my Fenix 6X watch):

The garmin express app on my laptop looks like following (it tells me my watch is up to date):

What I tried so far:

  • killing the android app, restarting it, let it load again - does not help
  • removing my garmin device from my account and readding it - works, but cumbersome, I always need to repeat the initial setup...
  • It was fixed in Android and iOS versions 2.2.

    Not sure if 2.2 belongs to android version as well, but for your information, I faced this problem using my Samsung S9 running android 10... I do not install many apps but nearly whenever I wanted to I faced this problem...
