Bug: Can't upload new app - One of the submitted files doesn't have the right media type

I've been unable to upload a new app to Garmin IQ app store for about a week now. I can get past the first step where .iq file is validated. Then I enter description, what's new, cover images and populate other mandatory fields, and I get the following error when I attempt to submit:

{

  "status": 415,

  "message": "HttpClientErrorException while adding app. One of the submitted files doesn't have the right media type"

}

I have checked to make sure all image files I'm trying to attach are either JPG or PNG and all are under the maximum specified sizes.

  • We had some issues this week that were interfering with app uploads/updates, but they have been addressed. Please let us know if you continue to have issues.

  • Okay, an update is that I managed to submit the app for review, although it took me a few attempts. Not sure what exactly was wrong but I first tried with dummy blank images for cover and screenshot, then I went back and uploaded the correct images I wanted to attach in the first place. My app is now pending review, so fingers crossed I'll finally get it published. The process seems a bit fragile.

  • Are you entering something other than plain text for the description or "What's new"?  Just using a less than or greater than sign can cause errors,  Try just plain text without anything that might be considered a special character.

  • Yeah, please improve error messages!!!
