Bad accelerometer data captured by FR55 after latest update

I develop CIQ apps for tracking racket sports (https://apps.garmin.com/developer/6a6d6521-4f13-470f-aa51-bc8d4ad0886b/apps). Core functionality of my apps is capturing and recognizing strokes based on accelerometer signal.

Recently I got couple of reports from Fr55 users that on their devices no strokes are being detected. Looks like latest update introduced some issue with accelerometer data aquisition. I'm pending users to provide me some raw data but I'm wondering if anyone has similiar issue?

  • FR55 firmware was updated but issue persists. One of the users provided me raw accelerometer signal:

the signal is recorded (captured by my app and saved in fit file) however it looks artificial. User did couple of swings of his hand in the air and saved activity but when reviewing the singal (picture attached above) it looks like couple series of repetable signal with EXACT same acceleration values being registered over and over again with exact interval. the signal is sampled 25/sec frequency and repeats at exactly same rate.

Please advice the root cause of that issue. Similiar behavior was reported to me by other users of FR55 so I guess it is not malfunction of single watch device.
