appstore experience is unbalanced

I think there's too much focus on paid content:

- most of the banner carousel relates to paid apps

- the first 3 categories (top paid watch faces, top paid apps, disney digital watch faces) relate to paid content only. The contents of these categories is extremely static.

- as a result of the above much of the content of "hot&fresh" and "trending" is paid content as well

I would like to suggest to remove the specific paid categories and to promote the paid apps via your banner carousel.

  • Yeah, this has been a wake-up call about what Garmin is planning to promote.  I rushed out a re-release of some apps so they could be "paid via garmin" to get some promotional spotlight.

The thing I've learned through the years in this community isn't to fight or resist what Garmin's doing but rather to just jump on the cutting edge.  Better to bend your sails to the wind and get carried with it than get your mast broken...

  • You're right, but think Garmin! They don't care if you find a good app or not. Probably on the contrary: the more paid garbage the better, because there's a chance you'll download one of the paid apps. And if it's garbage, then there's a chance some users will download another one.

Small people with short sight towards the future of the brand prefer short term cash. They'll get their yearly bonus and move on. They don't care about the Garmin fanclub or the users a few years from now...
