Approved app shows no compatible devices in the store — all Edge models report "not compatible"

ENVIRONMENT
- Operating system: Windows 11
- Device: Garmin Edge 1050, firmware 32.20 (latest)
- Connect IQ SDK: 9.2.0 (2026-06-09)
- App type: Data Field
- App ID: 677490fe-a5be-4799-b6d2-4533da04fe9a
- Manifest App ID: 87e19154c1ac44889cab006b99bba1b6
- Developer: AngeloDV

DESCRIPTION
My app is APPROVED and my merchant account is approved, but the public
store page lists NO compatible devices at all. The "Compatible Devices"
tab is completely empty, the Install button is disabled, and every user
sees "This app is not compatible with your Edge 1050". The app also no
longer appears in store search.

The app has been published since June 2025 (100+ downloads, 4.8 stars,
10 reviews) and was working. I recently set a price after my merchant
account was approved. Since then the store shows no compatible devices.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open https://apps.garmin.com/apps/677490fe-a5be-4799-b6d2-4533da04fe9a
(also reproduced in incognito and in several browsers)
2. Open the "Compatible Devices" tab -> the list is empty
3. Sign in with an account that has an Edge 1050 -> the page shows
"Device not compatible" and the Install button is greyed out

WHAT I ALREADY VERIFIED
- The developer dashboard reads my uploaded file correctly and reports:
"Status: Verified / Signature: Verified / Compatible devices:
Edge 1040, Edge 1050, Edge 540, Edge 550, Edge 840, Edge 850, Edge MTB"
- The .iq package contains all 8 part numbers, each with its .prg file:
006-B4440-00 (Edge 1050), 006-B4634-00 (Edge 850),
006-B4633-00 (Edge 550), 006-B3843-00 and 006-B4305-00 (Edge 1040),
006-B4061-00 (Edge 540), 006-B4062-00 (Edge 840),
006-B4655-00 (Edge MTB)
- The package declares minFirmwareVersion 3130 for the Edge 1050.
My own Edge 1050 runs firmware 32.20, well above that, and is still
reported as incompatible.
- The public store API returns NO compatibleDevicePartNumbers, no
compatibleDeviceTypeIds, no fileSizeInfo and no settingsAvailabilityInfo
for my app. I checked 30 other apps (free and paid, data fields and
watch faces): all 30 have those fields populated. Mine is the only one
without them.
- lastApprovalDate (24 Aug 2026 08:25 UTC) is older than changedDate
(25 Aug 2026 04:55 UTC), so version 6.0.1 looks stuck in review.
- Reproduced from six different countries (IT, US, GB, IL, DE, FR):
the device list is empty in all of them, so it is not region related.

IMPACT
Existing users cannot reinstall the app and new users cannot install it
at all. The app is effectively unavailable while showing as approved.

  • Thank you, that explains it. My app targets Edge devices only
    (1040, 1050, 540, 550, 840, 850, MTB), so with monetization enabled
the compatible device list ends up empty — which matches exactly what
    I'm seeing.

I'm switching the app back to free so users can install it again.

Two things that may be worth flagging to Garmin:
    1. The official App Sales documentation lists Edge 1040, 1050, 540,
550, 840, 850 and MTB under "Supported Products" for monetized apps,
which is what led me to enable it in the first place.
    2. The merchant onboarding let me set a price on an Edge-only app
without any warning, and the result is a listing that looks approved
but cannot be installed by anyone.

A validation error at the moment you set the price would have saved
this. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

  • I've seen a number of posts about how monitorization can't be used with edge devices, so I think it's a known issue.  If you add a current forerunner or fenix to your app, that should show as compatible.

  • Yes, exactly — everything worked until I turned on monetization.

    Timeline (all UTC):
    - The app was free and working since June 2025 (100+ downloads, 4.8 stars)
    - 24 Aug 08:24 — I uploaded version 6.0.0 while the app was still free.
It was approved 24 seconds later, at 08:25.
    - Then my merchant account was approved and I set a price on the
    existing listing.
    - Since that moment: the Compatible Devices tab is empty, the Install
button is disabled, every Edge owner gets "Device not compatible",
and the app disappeared from store search.
    - 25 Aug 04:55 — I uploaded 6.0.1 (only to fix a typo in the version
number). It has not been approved since: lastApprovalDate is still
    24 Aug 08:25.

The public store API returns no compatibleDevicePartNumbers, no
compatibleDeviceTypeIds, no fileSizeInfo and no settingsAvailabilityInfo
for my app. I checked 30 other apps, free and paid, and all 30 have
those fields. Mine is the only one without them.

    My app targets Edge only: 1040, 1050, 540, 550, 840, 850 and MTB — all
of them are on Garmin's list of monetization-supported products, so this
matches what you describe about Edge devices.

Two questions, if you know more:
    1. Do you know if this is being tracked already, or should this stay as
    a separate report?
    2. Is there a known workaround? Specifically: if I switch the app back
to free, does the device list come back? Right now nobody can install
it at all, so even going back to free temporarily would be better
    than being invisible.

    Thanks a lot for replying.

  • Did things go wrong when you turned on monitorization for the app?  Seems there's an issue with that and edge devices.
