App cannot be found in the iOS Connect IQ Store search

Hello Garmin Connect IQ Team,

We would like to report a possible Connect IQ Store search/display issue.

Our app has already been published on the Connect IQ Store, and the app detail page can be opened normally through the direct app link. However, users are unable to find the app when searching in the iOS Connect IQ Store app.

Interestingly, the same app can be found normally in the Android Connect IQ Store app using the same search keyword. In other words, the app does not appear to be removed from the store, and the direct app link is still valid, but it does not appear in the search results on the iOS Connect IQ Store app.

Current observations:

  • The app detail page can be opened normally through the direct link
  • The app can be found in the Android Connect IQ Store app
  • The app cannot be found in the iOS Connect IQ Store app using the same keyword
  • This may prevent iOS users from discovering and installing the app through the Connect IQ Store

Could you please help us check whether this issue is related to the Connect IQ Store search index, iOS app display behavior, device compatibility filtering, region/language settings, or account/device status?

Here is the app information:

App name:Ottai
App link:https://apps.garmin.com/apps/4af32294-7c01-4f75-b237-0671e03ccdfc

  • We were not able to reproduce this issue, assuming the keyword you're using to search is the app name (see image below). Its possible there's a difference in the app caching that made the app appear to be unavailable in iOS for a period of time after the app was published that did not affect Android.

  • This seems to be a frequent passion of mobile teams. Even in places I worked it happened all the time that the android and iOS app worked differently, or used different apis. There's really no reason for that IMHO, except maybe some secret agreement between iOS and Android developers to keep themselves busy and the world angry.
