WatchApp : Gym Set/Rest Timer

Attention : As of Sept 1st
Max Usage time per month implemented. Last NON-PRO version.

This was created to serve an itch of my own. I am a forgetful person and after a while, I lose count on the number of sets I've already done.
Hence this solution.

The app has 3 items on it only.

Set : This is to show remind how many sets has been done. e.g. 3sets of 15 reps each. (you will keep count of the reps yourself)
Rest : This is the time in between sets. Per normal instance, Weight Lifting would have a recommended rest time of say 60secs (countdown timer)
Timer : This is just a stopwatch to show how long is the total workout time - inclusive of rest time.

The StartStop key starts and stops the stopwatch (this version will not pause it - looking in to how to do start/pause/stop)

The UP key will increament the # of sets.
The DN key will Reset the # of sets back to 1. (e.g: if you do a 5x5, at the end of the 5 set, you would press the DN key and reset it back to Set 1 for the next session.

Method of usage.

1) Start stop watch
2) start first set (x number of reps)
3) Press Up to increment Set. this sets off the Rest Timer (60 secs)
4) once The Rest Timer counts down to 0 secs, (last 5 secs will have a vibrate function) then you begin your actual 2nd set

  • are you looking for the gym timer then? gym timer only tracks the rest time. (refer to the app store description on how to change the timer style via the menu system)

    Dear sir,

I want to report a bug. My watch is fenix 3 and firmware is 4.4. The split/lap screen is missing when I increase the set and my watch only vibrate once. I had enable the option. Please check. Tq.

Just Uploaded. Will take up to 3 days for approval

  • Hi,

Thanks but this is no longer a bug. The split/lap screen has been removed by Garmin. https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?255140-Why-does-my-App-crash-at-8-05-or-8-06-km-of-activity-recording/page3

But the lap will still be marked and be uploaded into GC.

As for the vibrate - this signifies that the Addlap has occurred.

    Hi,

I just installed the application on my fenix 3 software ver. 4.40 and when I attempt to use the application I get the IQ logo with a yellow exclamation point. I tried to restart my watch but I still had the same issue.

    Thanks,

Hi, Is it possible to move HR next to the 'SET'? Currently it's too small.

That's not good. For this type of error, it indicates that there may be issues with the app. (But seems like this issue is not widespread )

To troubleshoot, can you please put these blank text file (notepad) into your watch I the following directory
    \\GARMIN\APPS\LOGS

    CIQ_LOG.txt

The CIQ_LOG.txt would log out all the errors pertaining to the app.

There is another one which would log outputs from the app, but let's look at the CIQ_LOG first as the 2nd one is a bit more complicated.

So I confirmed it wasn't working then I checked for the log file in \\GARMIN\APP\LOGS and didn't find it so I created it. This time when I tried to open the app it worked fine. I tried to confirm it was the log file missing and when I removed the log file it stopped working. I tried to add the log file back but it still shows the same error screen and the log file has no content. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it later to see if that helps.

  • Btw - is this a new new install or an upgrade from prev version?
When u uninstall - in not sure if the STR and the SET files inside the Garmin\apps\data or Settings directory is also removed. Can u determine that it is removed as well?
That may be another issue with it.

I've never had issues with it, but I've known that some watches are weird and just doesn't work for some reason. I too have an F3 and just upgraded to 4.6 with no drama.
  • GPS/HR for vivo active

Thank you for creating this app. I have the vivo active and the ONE big thing it is missing is the ability to track intervals. I tried this out tonight and ran 7 intervals. Unfortunately when I came home what it tracked was basically nothing. It didn't do the full time of the intervals, it showed the range of my HR but not per interval, and did not track my GPS or distance.

I think you created this for the gym, if you have the ability please also create something that can be used for interval running as far as I can tell there is nothing.

    thank you again.

  • You basically hit the nail on the Head. As the name of the app implies - this is for the gym. There is no provision for the track/running activity although I can see how it can be used for that purpose.

But... If u have a 920/F3, the GPS would be on (it's a bug) but on the VA, this bug is not present otherwise it can track dist and track etc.

You should check the VA forum, under the 4/6/9 thread
