DataFields : 367 RunFields

Update 2015-09-15

Have started to upload V2 of the 367Bike and RunFields to the App store.
367BikeFields is Live.
367RunFields is Live

The new version adds TimerTime, also adds the seconds on the timer once you reach > 1hr. (I'm told that seeing seconds is especially important for runners)

Note for all : Please refer to the app store for the latest in the NEW direction the app/datafield is going.
Go PRO! GO UnLimited!!

  • TOD (Time Of Day)
  • Timer Time
  • Pace 10s / Current Speed (in KM or Miles)
  • Cad
  • HR
  • Dist (either Miles or KM)
  • Avg Pace / Avg Speed

Many Thanks to SimonMcMullen for his code guidance.
Many Thanks to TORSTEINVH for his guidance on how to make an moving average (tho it's still a hack and not pretty code)

  • it definitely works on the VA. Tho there has been reports and reviews of it not working but unless more info is provided as to wht steps has been taken, what has been tried, or the like, I'll just save myself some sorrow trying to figure out what's wrong.

Epix support - should be relatively simple if the resolution is the same as the VA, But no plans for it as from the Epix forums - I see / have impression of quite a lot of displeasure with CIQ stuffs in terms of support / firmware support or such.

So, ill hold up for now. Even if I do release it, it will be under PRO level
  • I can be your betatester if it only take to install and test it on stock firmware :) I ran about 40-80km/week so there is plenty time to test :) I can ride bike with cadence/speed too if you want but much less since it make my knee hurt.

For now i use only one CIQ field and it works flawessly.

ill keep that in mind. But for now, I'm knee deep and head banging on a project which is giving me quite a lot of grief and a steep learning curve. So, I'm currently focussed on that instead and not really thinking of adding other support.

    Changes?

Love the data fields, except timer would be much more useful than elapsed time. Keep up the great work!

    thats In the PRO package.
  • The "simpledatafield" is pretty simple actually. Very easy actually.
The Datafield is more complicated where you really need to write everything.

For reference source codes, you can find some on GitHUb. (search using keyword --> extension:mc using)

The one I've released, supports Vivoactive - but since I do not have an actual HW, I'm not sure how small it looks. The screen real-estate is limited. (unless you remove the Labelling then you can have a slightly bigger font size for the data. Based on what someone here has tested, you can get up to 6 fields on the vivoactive right now. (even tho I've designed it such that you can get 9 fields in total on the vivoactive - there is a 2 field limitation for ConnectIQ Datafields - so you get a max of 6)

Refer to screenshot on the app page as well as on this forum thread.

Each project usually takes me a week+. (slow coder I know..)

You mention that ConnectIQ data fields for the vivoactive are limited to 2. Do you know if there is a work-around for this, or if a future firmware update will address this? I love the data field work you've put together so far, and would really like to get 9 total fields on a single screen on the VA. I can always write my own if you know of another way. Thanks!
  • i am not Garmin. Hence I don't have insider info :-p

You can always go crazy and use the tiniest font and get maybe 20 into 1 horizontal layout and thus can have 20+20 + 1 = 41 (you will still limited to the 3 horizontal lines layout on the VA. (And the EPix))

    Hope that helps..

    Dear all,

maybe a stupid question, but is it not possible to adjust the fields in 7-screen display, like we can do with the original garmin views?

    I'm using fenix 3.

    Best regards

  • Nope. no configurations possible with ANY datafields.
However, custom configurations are available in the PRO version.
