Update 2015-09-15

Have started to upload V2 of the 367Bike and RunFields to the App store.

367RunFields is Live

The new version adds TimerTime, also adds the seconds on the timer once you reach > 1hr. (I'm told that seeing seconds is especially important for runners)

Note for all : Please refer to the app store for the latest in the NEW direction the app/datafield is going.
Go PRO! GO UnLimited!!

Many Thanks to TORSTEINVH for his guidance on how to make an moving average (tho it's still a hack and not pretty code)

How do I go pro? It's not obvious love this datafield.
  • Please add a "BUY PRO" button or link.
Finding the link "mail me at xxxx" was NOT straight forward when you're looking to upgrade/buy.

Go Pro Go Unlimited in the middle of my Run

I can appreciate that you want to get paid for your work, this is a nice data field and I've used it for a while. I wish you would implement the session timeout so that it lets the user finish their current activity. I was in the middle of my Sunday afternoon run and the screen goes black with a message similar to the Title of my post. I didn't really know why, it wasn't until trial and error that I figured out it was the data field. Please let me know what you are charging for it.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Am I the only one? When i'm using this awesome datafield, my battery is draining a lot, +/- 10% per hour.

Not quite that much, but it did decrease my overall battery life significantly. 1 Sec recording, Glonass on should give ~16 hours. Ran an ultra in late August, with this as my only ConnectIQ field, and my battery died at 11:47! Of course that was 12 minutes before I finished the stage. Thankfully, I was wearing an Ambit also, and that was fine.

btw, the new app version times out after 15 minutes. Useless. Too bad, it was a good screen.. but it seems the developer is now looking for $ via the 'pro' version. Go Pro, Go Unlimited, Go...away.

    Deleted the app.

I've not noticed any adverse effect on battery.

Why shouldn't a developer who spends a load of time making good software be rewarded for that? He's one of the most responsive developers I've come across on any platform and is still developing other apps for Garmin IQ.

I have no problem with that. But the way it's been implemented is basically ransomware. No thanks.
  • How's that?
What other "try before" options is there?
How would you do it differently within the confines of the current limitations? Just so I know how to proceed next time.

I personally Always hated the Apple Store where one can't even try. Read the desc, see it's priced at USD29.99 - try your luck and then - it;s not what I wanted, and can't even get a refund. Even if it's a 0.99 app.

Anyways - Can't please them all. I'll go away.

The data field worked fine, until it was updated the other day and made to not work. Updating from GC, there was no indication that it wouldn't work. I found it during an activity - great user experience! So, I go to the store to see what's up, and download the new one. There's mention of a session limit, but really it's a demo - and a short one at that. So 15 minutes into a run, you get the message that the data isn't available.. go pro! Go to the app store to see what I could've missed - nope, no indication that it's so short, nor any price information on the real version. Ya have to email the developer to find out even how much the app is? Really?

Be up front - say it's a 15 minute DEMO, and state the price and process for upgrading to 'pro'. That simple.
