Watchface: SoF - UTC

Just submitted a variant of my Steps on Face watchface with the original name SoF - UTC. There were requests to also display UTC on the main face.

Hope people enjoy.

  • Interesting error on the D2. I will have to take a look at the code to see if anything would cause this. I don't have a D2 to test with, only a F3. For the seconds on continuously, are you sure that it is not that you are moving your wrist to look and activating the seconds count? To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to keep the watch face in the high power (seconds) mode.

Thanks for the feedback, this is the first time I have seen someone running on the D2.

I will try to get back with a bug fix quickly.

  • For the missing leading 0, check the format you use for display. It should be "%02d" for 2 digit, zero filled, but some of the samples use "%.2d" which works in the simulator, but not devices.
  • Jim thanks for the pointer - when I was making another change, I deleted the formatting command.

This should get the minutes properly going again. I did have some strangeness when I uploaded the file to the app store, it looks like the date stamp was off on the new version of the file. Please let me know if it works, if not I will dig into why I am not getting the right version up to the store.

  • I just got confirmation that the wrong version was uploaded to the connect store. I am on the road for the next couple of days, when I get back in town I will make sure that the right version gets uploaded to take care of the improper formatting of the minutes.

Sorry for the delay in the update.

  • I think I got the right file uploaded - see Version 1.4. Please let me know if this solves the problems.

  • Paul,

I'm still having the issue with 1.4 on my D2 Bravo...I fully deleted the face and then tried clean installs both via Express and through GCM. Any other users still seeing this?

By the way, I'd like to donate via Paypal for your efforts - check your PMs.

    Cheers,

  • Version 1.5

Ok - I was a bit sloppy with my variables - this time I got the bug squashed. I also checked it with my F3

    Sorry for the version explosion.

Another version of this watch face

Love this watch face ..but I don't usually use the activity tracker on my watch...could u pls kindly make another version of this watch face with the green arc bar @ the top that moves along the watch face with each seconds pass by ( arc bar will be reset when the seconds return to "00") )
    many thx
  • Boom! Just installed 1.5 and everything is back to normal. Thanks for the fix Paul!

  • The challenge with displaying seconds in any form is that the watch generally is in a "low power" state that does not allow the display to update the seconds. The watch only goes to a "high power" mode and updates every second when it detects that you have moved your wrist in a certain way. This means that if the watchface always displays the seconds, and you have not activated the watch into "high power" mode the seconds display will be incorrect. It is for this reason that I turn off the seconds display when the watch is in low power mode.

My general thinking is that the watch should never provide inaccurate information. If I left the seconds arc in place when in low power, it would not be providing accurate seconds information. If I added and deleted the arc I think it would be very distracting.
