Watchface: SoF - UTC

Just submitted a variant of my Steps on Face watchface with the original name SoF - UTC. There were requests to also display UTC on the main face.

Hope people enjoy.

If you like it, you can buy me a beer - IPAs preferred ;)

  • Thank you! I´m using your watchface as standard for my F3.

It would be so good, if garmin would put an example like this to it's SDK.
As non-programmer its realy hard to figure out how to add all the details to a watchface...

    Regards
  • Would love this for the D2-Bravo

This a great watch face - especially for pilots.

Now that the ConnectIQ store supports the new aviation-specific D2-Bravo, would love to see this face available for it as well. Shouldn't require much (if any) code changes as the F3 and D2-Bravo are basically identical under the hood.

    Cheers,

  • I am working on an update now to address a bit of laziness on my part. Correcting UTC for places that are not off by even numbers of hours. When I do that I will reissue for the D2-Bravo too.

Any other requests while I have the code cracked open? :-)
  • New version 1.2

    • Corrected an issue for not displaying UTC properly for non-whole hour timezones
    • Added D2-Bravo capability (untested)

I would be interested in hearing from anyone with a D2-Bravo make sure it works.

    Central Time Zone

Can you please develop another watch face that gives the exact same information but that also includes the central time zone instead of the UTC? Likewise, I am sure you could develop a separate watch face for each of the time zones and people could download the correct time zone that fits their needs.

    Thanks,

How about configurable time zone instead of universal

would be great if you're You could configure the second time not just have universal
  • For the long term plan that is my goal.

Right now I am waiting on Garmin Connect to provide the way to have user settings for the watch face. Even then, it won't be a simple matter, in the US timezones are pretty straight forward (unless you are in Arizona), but around the world when the changes from daylight savings time are not very clear cut.

Hopefully one of the next updates will provide this functionality and I can write a generic dual zone feature.

    Display of seconds disappear

Thank you for this very nice watchface. I was looking for this kind of watchface because I need the Zulu-Time at work. The only problem I have, is that the display of the seconds disappear and is not shown anymore. Is there anything I can do to see the seconds on the display?

ALL CIQ watchfaces can only display seconds for about 10 seconds after the proper arm gesture. The rest of the time, they can only update every minute (it's to save battery power).
  • Great face....missing zeros in UTC?

This is my absolute favorite face for my D2-Bravo...well designed and intuitive to read. However, I've noticed that recently it doesn't allow the watch to enter low-power mode (which drains the battery quickly), and it omits the first zero in the minutes portion of the UTC time field (16:06 shows up as 16:6, and 20:00 displays as 20:0)...anyone else seen this?
