Mostly a speedometer. Mostly built for my own amusement ;)

Changelog:

1.1 - Tweak design to be clearer and bolder
1.0 - Initial release
  • Nautical knots, please.

    Great looking widget!
  • Very useful, only fonts are much too small!
  • Very nice to have a speedometer widget, thanks! I noticed that when at rest, the max speed in MPH is 20. Does that adjust upward as one starts to move? And will it record speeds upward of 50 or 70 mph?

    Yes, it will increase the maximum from 20 to 50 / 100 / 200 / 500 / 1000. Beyond that I don't think civilian GPS units work :-)

(NB, I haven't actually had a chance to test it for real. But the logic is there!)
  • Morning babysimon_uk,

Great widget. While using this weekend in the car it reported that I was traveling 200 MPH with a scale of 500 MPH. As I scrolled through the data being shown at the bottom of the screen it reported I had a good GPS signal. When going into other activity apps to confirm that the unit was getting a good signal on my Fenix 3 using SW 3.20. Does this widget have to be used only during a activity itself or can it pull up GPS without a activity being active? Thank you.
  • Great Widget, looking forward to getting some use out of it, have been looking for one like this for a while :D
  • I'm finding that the data refresh rate seems sort of low, and data is often quite inaccurate. Spot checking driving in the car, I've hit I think 150mph in a 30mph zone, and I often seem to be doing north of 50 at stop lights. Haven't looked at your code at all yet though.
  • Not accurate, update coming?

Great idea for a widget, a app would be nice too. But it is not accurate at all. Any plans on making it accurate? I'm on 4.5 with a F3.
    Thanks for you hard work

I purchased a Quatix 3 "sailing" watch but can't seem to figure out to set the speed and distance to knots and NMs respectively?
It is sold as a "sailing" watch so I assume it is me and not the watch...
