Merci !

ENGLISH (Google Translate) :
Hello, Widget "Position Plus" displays the GPS position, altitude, speed, direction and quality of GPS signal.
OK, that's perfect ! Thanks for this usefull widget :-)
However, the altitude is very often false, because the widget uses (in my opinion) the value of the atmospheric pressure to display the altitude.
Indeed when the altitude is false, fixing the official Fenix3 altimeter value corrects the PositionPlus value.
Is it possible that this altitude is calculated via GPS (not the altimeter included in the fenix)?
Thank you!
  • Indeed two reviewers raised the question whether the altitude displayed by the widget is the GPS altitude or the one computed by the watch altimeter. Unfortunately Garmin does not expose the GPS altitude in the ConnectIQ API therefore I am only able to display the altitude as calculated by the barometric altimeter. I would prefer to be able to display the GPS altitude (and would also like to be able to insert the GPS altitude rather than the barometric one in the activity fit file while running) but unfortunately Garmin does not provide this option. It is also a pity that the barometer widget cannot be set to chart the atmospheric pressure rather than the barometric one as handheld devices such as gpsmap and oregon do. The original fenix had that ability to specify this in settings but Garmin subsequently decided to remove it in the fenix 2 and 3 and we are stuck with a pretty much useless plot of the barometric pressure.

Thanks. Hope Garmin will allow access to gps api soon !
you should indicate that this is the altitude measured with the barometer.
