I wanted a quick way to check my heart rate without starting an activity, so here it is. I also wanted to see how close I could get it to having it look "native" (at least on the fenix 3, I don't think the other watches have chart widgets like this natively).

Changelog:

1.3.2 - Fix stupid bug in range display
1.3.1 - Longer periods, notify on HRM connect
1.3 - Configurable period and colour, autoscale y axis, port to app
1.2 - Persist data across sessions, compatibility with square watches, visual tweaks
1.1 - Chart that looks like Garmin's
1.0 - Initial version, just numbers, never released
  • After updating to 6.80 ,connecting to my heartrate strap is not working. It does not display HR and does not give any connectionsound as it did.Trying to open the connectionpage I can see that HR strap is indeed connected and all other aps is displaying HR ok. Only thing to have it connect is restart of the watch and go directly in to this app. But if it looses connection (by for example "hide" the watch from the strap) it does nor reconnnect. This is with my HRM "Run" strap

^^ The same by my Fenix3, but why does the widget still work?!

Same here. I love the widget and it works fine , moved to the app but it just says nothing. No HR detected.

    6.80 firmware.

All other apps and widgets can access the HR no worries.

HR Chart - app (not widget)

Posting here as cannot find any comments on the APP not Widget version of this:

I loved this little app - it enabled me to monitor my HR independently of starting another app. However, it has just stopped working. After a restart it worked, but on closing the app and starting another time it does nothing again. I cannot keep rebooting the F3 everytime I want to read my HR. It does not seem to pick up the HRM which I know is functioning as other apps show it.
PS Went to the forum but seems to be for the widget - this is an app?
  • It is my understanding that the fenix3 problems that you guys are having is a fenix3 firmware issue, not a problem with this app. Several of the developers have mentioned seeing it in testing with recent versions of the fenix3 firmware. The only know workaround is to roll back to an older firmware or to reboot the watch if you want to be able to access the sensor.

Heart Rate App issue on fenix 3

    Hi

I'm having issues with the Heart rate app starting and detecting the HRM. It will work once after watch is restarted but would not detect HRM until you restart the watch again. However, with the heart rate widget it would detect the HRM ever time the widget is active. Problem is only with the App version. Does anyone else have this problem??

I have the same problem! Is there a possible workaround available? Thank you for a short statement!

Was working but now needs a reboot...?

    Hi Simon

I loved this app and used it all the time, particularly during HiiT sessions where distance and pace were not relevant. However, it now only ever seems to pick up the HRM after a re-boot of my Fenix 3? If I leave the app and go into anything else, then open this app another time it does not pick up the HRM. Only after turning the F3 off and on again does it recognise the HRM and give a reading.

Can this be fixed as everything else about this is exactly what I want?

    Cheers

    Tony

    HR Chart - app

Thanks for your reply Travis - who do I approach about getting this fixed? I am not a fan of rolling back firmware as I believe it is developed to move forward and solve previous weaknesses and reverting to an older firmware may lead to failures elsewhere as I would like to assume that developers are adapting to the new version. Either the HR app needs to be revised to match the firmware update or the firmware update needs to change to accommodate the app. I suspect the latter is unlikely !

Not being a developer (and thanks to those of you that do learn the code and upload your work) I do not know if a code change to this app is an easy fix. I suppose a comment as to whether this is being addressed and likelihood of being fixed in a future update would be useful, or whether it is now a take it or leave it option?

    HRC and Garmin Connect

Apologies if this has been answered- I'm a noob to the forum, and to the Fenix 3.

Recently had atrial fibulation so I bought a Fenix 3 to track activity, and map kayaking and had hoped there was a heart rate chart app and thankfully found this!

I can't seem to figure out how to port the HRC data from the Fenix 3 to Garmin Connect(or anywhere else...) I dug through this forum and didn't seem to find an answer. I'm going to have to wear a heart rate monitor next Monday for my cardiologist, and would love to be able to walk in and hand him a week's worth of heart rate charts from the previous week.

Please do your best to give me the steps on what to do if possible, thanks in advance for your help.
