I wanted a quick way to check my heart rate without starting an activity, so here it is. I also wanted to see how close I could get it to having it look "native" (at least on the fenix 3, I don't think the other watches have chart widgets like this natively).

Changelog:

1.3.2 - Fix stupid bug in range display
1.3.1 - Longer periods, notify on HRM connect
1.3 - Configurable period and colour, autoscale y axis, port to app
1.2 - Persist data across sessions, compatibility with square watches, visual tweaks
1.1 - Chart that looks like Garmin's
1.0 - Initial version, just numbers, never released
  • I don't see any sense i a recovery time widget.
It will be a linear line heading to 0, with additions on the absolute part after every activity.
I also can't see any sense in the form of the Suunto graph, is it updating the recovery time already while in activity or how do the get that rises.

Imagine you workout and get 40h of recovery and then train again after 20h with a recovery of 30h (for that activty) then you first have a steady decline from 40-20h and then a rise in the graph since total recovery time will be 40-20+30=50h
  • Shure, this is what i meant. But the rises will be vertical and not like shown from Suunto.
  • Hi I've installed the app and the data field versions on my 920xt (FW v3.30), but I can't see the app when I scroll up and down from the clock face page. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app but that didn't help. The data field version seems to work fine. Any pointers to help me out please? Can't find anything on the internet about enabling apps once installed, so I'm assuming it should just appear with the other widgets?

I think it considers the time you spent working out so a recovery time of 30h from a workout duration of 2h will not be a vertical jump. If the x-axis shows time and y-axis recovery time then the the line will be the angle of 2h time and 30h revovery time if you follow. It might also consider activity from the activity tracking (if you move around a lot without starting an activity) but I am not sure.
  • Ok, figured out how to access the app, but tried the widget version as well and that doesn't appear when you cycle through the widget screens when pressing the up and down buttons....I can only see the default widgets and none of the ones which I have installed from the IQ Connect Store (via Garmin Express), what am I missing? an extensive search of the garmin forums and wider internet hasn't turned up an answer yet!
  • figured it out, turns out that Garmin Express had not actually installed any of the widgets via USB. I checked on the iOS GC app and none were installed, but they did successfully install via bluetooth from my iPhone :-)

Strange, no reactions to the bugs I mentioned 13 days ago...

Am I the only one to meet those difficulties?
  • Hi guys, I really like this app. Just would like to know if is possible to save and store data of the monitoring.. When I exit from the app, everything goes lost...
    Am I wrong?

    Thanks very much
  • AFAIK - currently able to store it , but likely not able to export it.
I know the HRV app is able to store it and the SDK does have a sample app for storing data.

Do yourself a new activity profile (gps off) and add the heart rate chart data field (looks exactly the same, only the timeline can not be changed). You can save heart rate data even overnight.

But if is active the page with this chart fielt, the watch eats more battery power. Therefore add one page without chart data field and select this for the night.
