Data Field: Peter's Negative Split

Download: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/9...d-46a0ef12da35

It is said many world records have been run by making use of a negative race split pace strategy. Can you apply the same tactics and best your PR?

Peter's Negative Split assists you in running the first half of your race slower (negative split) or faster (positive split).

The key features this app offers to assist in negative/positive pacing yourself:
  • Target Pace for the current kilometer/mile in top row
  • Lap speed/pace gauge to indicate whether you're on target pace (green about ok, blue a little bit too fast, orange way too slow or way too fast)
  • Ahead/Behind Time indicator
  • Lap correction feature: possibility to synchronize with the board marker you see by hitting the LAP button on your watch

If you're looking for an app that helps you with an even pace effort then check out my other app: Peter's (Race) Pacer
  • it should be exactly the same or a very close match, the calculator mentioned also uses the linear regression model, just as my app does.

I'll add cadence to the to do list. ;)
  • Hi Peter,

Great app. I'm planning on using the app this weekend for a half marathon and was hoping for some clarification on the lap-correction feature.

Yesterday whilst testing the app over a 5km distance, I had lap distance set to 1250m (to give 4 laps). My watches auto-lap is set to 1km and each time the auto lap triggered the app's lap-correction also activated; so, at 1km distance my watch's autolap triggered, which triggered the lap correct on the app, so that 1.25km distance showed.

I want to use a lap distance in the app of 5km for the half marathon, but also want my watch's autolap to give me the data after each 1km. Is this possible, or will I need to either:

    (a) Turn off the watch's autolap feature
    (b) Set the app's lap distance to 1km

    Thanks

    Rod
  • When you wish to retain the auto lap functionality then this lap size has to be equal to the lap size in the settings of the app.
