Data Field: Let there be light!

This data field is useful for users who go out at night to run:

specify to have the backlight always on
set the backlight on when it's dark outside (between sunset and sunrise)

In addition it also shows the next sun event (sunrise or sunset)

Just put this data field on one of your data field pages to light up all your pages.

18:11 was the sunset but the backlight wasn't staying on.

I've since done a factory reset and set everything up and it looks like it's working as expected. Thanks for the prompt reply!

I've installed this in my Edge 520+, but it just doesn't seem to do anything ... It shows the correct next Sun rise/set event time, but nothing happens

Does activity need to be running at the time of sunset to turn on backlight? Or will it turn on backlight if I commend the activity after sunset?

It shouldnt no.

What happens if you choose the option to always have backlight? Does that work?

Tried that today, still backlight stays off

GCM reported new version, so deleted and reinstalled (for some reason wouldn't update) I'll try sunset to sunrise setting again tomorrow ...

peterdedecker I haven't been able to get this to work (have also tried "All in One" data field - same outcome)

I think that the Edge 520+ back light is always "on", but activated with a key press. The available settings [System --> Display] are:

Backlight Time Out (I have it set to "Stays On")
Brightness (I toggle between 0% and 10% for off and on)

Needless to say, I have no idea how any of this is managed in code (either native to 520+, or in data field)

Hi! I own 1040 and like your datafield, it to what it does. But can you correct its appearance? On 10-field layout caption "Sunrise" is cutted a half!
