  • Very nice watch face!!! Would it be possible to have the option to remove the "calorie bar"? And to be able to have "colon" between hour / minutes). Still date and% of the largest battery? And now more smoothness between dials? And change the font type?

@Jan_72 you have done well the font on the 5x is larger now and works well. As does the colour change and the turning off the seconds. I will answer some of your questions:

    • Stick with v.Simple Watch Face (VSWF) because that's what it is and what we want.
    • The items you have a fine I would only add HR as an option perhaps.
    • Likin the bigger font. Date and step count a bit larger would be good
    • I think your locations are good but see my comment below about the time

I have only one suggestion now and that is the location of the time. At the moment it sits in the top right corner, so to speak. I am thinking it is there to leave space for the seconds and when the time has 4 numbers. Would be good if you could centre it in the available space both horizontally and vertically (using the seconds space if they are turned off).

Glad to hear you are quite happy! I will check location/alignment of time. It should be "dead center" as I am locating it in the middle by dividing width by 2.

Thanks for feedback, few clarifications are needed:

    1. By "calorie bar" do you mean steps bar? the bar in the middle in low portion of watch face? I can make that user selectable option to show/hide. Will try to work it in next release

    2. Colon will make time string (hour+minutes) wider, thus font would need to be smaller. That is contradicting original BIG design. It could be made as user setting, but then we need many fonts for different supported watch sizes and some code that will affect performance a bit.

    3. What do you mean by: Still date and% of the largest battery?

    4. What do you mean by: And now more smoothness between dials? Less space between dials?
  • @Jan: i think brookes was referring to centering the time vertically since there is more space below the HHMM than above it because of the space left for the seconds.

I checked again with simulator for 5x and time is located horizontally dead center. @brookes2622: Can you take picture of your watch face?

and, I just implemented HR and it is included in settings as well so you can disable/enable it if you wish. I need to still do some testing before release.

Ok, that makes sense. I tried to make them centered vertically, brookes can check from next build (1.45) whether it is ok now.

    Version 1.46 is released:
HR added above steps bar. It can be enabled/disabled via settings in Garmin connect or express app.
Adjusted time font vertically to center for big screen versions 240px * 240px e.g. fenix 5X (requested by brookes2622)
**Pls. note that HR is disabled by default and needs to be enabled via settings. HR reading will take some time to stabilise!**

    Version 1.47 released:

    - HR sensor check added, HR will not be shown on models that are not supporting it
    - Font placement tweaks
    - New feature: User can select background colour via settings
  • Looks good. Great job.

Centering is much better, heart rate works a treat.

It's my fulltime watchface at the moment. Voting with my feet :)
  • @Jan you are doing great work!

    couple more things i've noticed:
    - with latest release, for some reason, my watch doesn't show notifications to the right of the date like it used to.
    - the HR isn't quite centered horizontally, can you shift it a little to the right?

it's been my default watch face the last couple of days. :)

    Thanks!

    1. my mistake, I had made typo in code what comes to showing notifications. Will fix it in next release.
    2. HR number must be dead center as it is aligned by width / 2, maybe it is heart icon that is off?

    Enjoy!
