    Superbe appli

  • I will remake the menu tonight I think, thanks

    Hi,

it's actually a long time I was looking for an app like that. It seems that you really did a nice job ;)
In this post I would like to make you some questions, just to be sure that your app is the right one for me:

First, an important preamble: I sometimes help my sailing club placing the marks during regattas. To do that, I need to (i) set GPS points (e.g. of the race committee or of already placed buoys), and measure the distance from my actual position to that points (not the travelled distance, but the straight distance), so I can put the buoys exactly at a given distance, (ii) read the wind speed and angle, (iii) drive the motor dinghy, (iv) talk at the radio with the race direction and, finally, (v) moor the buoys. I usually use classic GPS devices for the task (i), like the Garmin GPS 73, but using such devices is sometimes not really practical (I have only two hands, and I need to do many things simultaneously), thus having the ability to set GPS points and read the distance directly on my wrist would be fantastic!

This said, I considered to (A) buy a smartwatch and load specific applications or (B) buy a modern sportwatch and use the prebuilt apps. In case (A), I finally concluded that smartwatches are usually too fragile and also quite expensive (especially if you want real waterproof sport smartwatch). In case (B), you can find robust gps sportwatches at reasonable prices, but if you want high end prebuilt applications, you would probably spend even more than for smartwatches (see the quatix series, for example). However, if your application really does what I need, I think that I could use it on a Forerunner 230, which is very beautiful, reasonably priced, robust and reliable. So, my questions are:

    1) would you suggest to install and use your app on a Forerunner 230? does your app works fine and smoothly on this watch?
    2) with your app, can I set GPS waypoints using only the watch? I don't need to put the latitude and longitude coordinates, but just to set a waypoint at my current GPS position;
    3) can I name/rename waypoints directly on the watch?
    4) does your app has a "navigation to waypoint" function, indicating the distance to the waypoint?

    Thank you very much.
    Best regards,

    Marco
  • Bonjour Beynod,
Non, ce probl?me de direction etait un bug logiciel sur la quatix qui n'a jamais ete corrige, j'en avais une avant
Mon application semble fonctionner pas mal, en tous cas pour moi, mieux que ma quatix ...
  • Hi Marco, sorry for delay
    Here what I think :
    1) No
    2) Yes, with the actual position
    3) No, have to use your phone, cause the waypoints are in the parameters
    4) Yes
