HRV
Get the app.

Graphing.
The design currently only saves to 1 location per day. The timestamp is taken when the test starts, so autostart will take the timestamp at the scheduled time. This means that any saved test will overwrite any previous test of that same day. A day is calculated from the local timezone, so travelling won't disrupt the storage so long as you have updated the timezone before starting the test. The averages are a 30 day mean average.

Description & Explanation
Wouldn't that be nice. Will happen, but might take a while.
This page could be useful.

Notes
- Your device must have firmware that supports Connect IQ Apps.
- You can save the results by creating a log file. To do this you must work out which name has been applied to the HRV app file. The apps are in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. It will be a name something like A6227C9B.PRG. You then create a log file with the same name, e.g /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT. Each reading you save will output a result formatted as ISO8601 date & time, hrv, avg pulse, 30 day hrv avg, 30 day pulse avg.

Thanks for the update and thanks for the icon. A couple of issues though.
    1) After upgrading through Garmin Express the app was uninstalled rather than upgraded. I had to re-install. No ideas why since it seemed to upgrade ok and I only found it was uninstalled rather than upgraded when I found it missing from the watch when I unplugged it. I had originally tried to upgrade through bluetooth but GC mobile showed 1.0.1 but did not think an upgrade was needed.

    2) There seems to be an issue with the transparency of the icon. I assume the icon is meant to be just the heartbeat, but 3/4 of the background is grey rather than transparent. I've attached a picture for you to see.

I have no part in how Garmin choose to implement their installation service.

Thank you for the picture. The icon looks exactly as I have designed. I see it as 1/4 white, 3/4 blue, pulse overlay.

    Great, thanks for your work.
  • Hi All. Great application. I want to ask how to use or how to understand the result. I was reading that a higher HRV value is Better. For example, today mooorning HR 49 and HRV 69, is a good idea make a index(HRV/HR) and follow this value?
  • Hi Shark -

For the TOD screen. is it an artifact or by design that I should see 2 blue horizontal line on it?

Design. The continuance of the lines through all pages is to add a point of constant reference when scrolling sideways through the pages. The only reason I had to change the behavior of the graph screen, from a slide to a pop, is that when full it stutters - because it has a lot to do, so I thought I should just load it as quickly as possible.

I have never heard of anyone using HRV/HR as a metric. You may well be the first. I am a long way off the possibility of including a decent description of HRV. That you will have to research for yourself my friend.

Just thought I'd follow up on this. This issue was clearly nothing to do with you or yout app since I have subsequently noticed ALL Connect IQ apps, widgets, watch faces etc were deleted from my device and had to be re-installed. Looks like something cleared the entire directory on the watch, or somehow else removed everything.
  • @gasteropod: Which device and firmware version were you using when your apps were removed from the file system?
