HRV
Get the app.

Graphing.
The design currently only saves to 1 location per day. The timestamp is taken when the test starts, so autostart will take the timestamp at the scheduled time. This means that any saved test will overwrite any previous test of that same day. A day is calculated from the local timezone, so travelling won't disrupt the storage so long as you have updated the timezone before starting the test. The averages are a 30 day mean average.

Description & Explanation
Wouldn't that be nice. Will happen, but might take a while.
This page could be useful.

Notes
- Your device must have firmware that supports Connect IQ Apps.
- You can save the results by creating a log file. To do this you must work out which name has been applied to the HRV app file. The apps are in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. It will be a name something like A6227C9B.PRG. You then create a log file with the same name, e.g /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT. Each reading you save will output a result formatted as ISO8601 date & time, hrv, avg pulse, 30 day hrv avg, 30 day pulse avg.

Same issue here. I have the Vivoactive 2.6 firmware, but I have the current version of HRV, 1.0, if I touch the screen, press Start (upper right button), or the back arrow, it reboots my watch. :(

Same here.I have 2.7 firmware and HRV 1.0. Screen comes up great, menu works fine,if I try to close it or start it watch reboots..:(

I can only guess that it may be being caused by the data file. You could try resetting the settings, then if that's not enough the results. Finally you might try deleting the file, possibly \GARMIN\APPS\DATA\A6227C9B.STR
  • Hmm.... so I did this last night but must have "mis-pressed" something when I woke up b/c I don't see where anything was stored.
When I went to sleep I had set the watch with and "auto" HRV time of 11:00 pm (10 minute intervals).
I'm GUESSING I set it up correctly but think that maybe I pressed the "wrong" button when I woke.
What am I supposed to do upon waking?
Trial 1 = FAIL (on my part)

    Will try again tonight.

Firstly, (have to ask) had you started the test? When you start an auto start test a countdown time will commence, informing you of how long till start. Secondly, I find that the strap easily loses contact when lying down, especially when lying on your side. So it could just be that it didn't gather enough data to save the test.

..and there are no intervals as such. It would be a single 10 minute test.

..when you wake you simply have an opportunity to review the data before resetting the test. There is nothing else you can do. If enough data was received then the test will already be saved.

Okay so I am fairly confident I did not set it up correctly because I got no countdown. So any chance someone would want to walk me through the steps/button presses to set it up correctly for an auto test an hour after I lie down?

Can't you just wait a few more weeks for me to finish the manual ;)

Set the test mode to auto test. MENU > Test Type > Auto
Set the time you want the test to run. MENU > Settings > Auto test > Duration
Set the time you want the test to start. MENU > Settings > Auto test > Schedule

The screen should now show the schedule time in the message bar, and the test duration in the timer.
    Press start
The screen should now show a countdown timer showing time till the start of the test. The Ant channel will be disabled to save power, it will enable when the test starts. When the Green timer times out the watch will switch to "Green mode", the watch face will appear, the refresh timer will slow to 1 minute updates.

    Wait/Sleep, dream?
    Zzzzz
    Test starts at scheduled time.
Test timer finishes. Were there enough samples gathered? Yes, save test, show results. No, inform not enough samples gathered.
    Zzzzz
    Wake.
Check results. If you have managed to press any buttons after the test has finished then all you will presently see is the updated graph. I am working to provide you with better information, through web interface etc..
  • Lol ............. you are something else!
    Thanks very much!!!
I'll give it a go tonight.
Probably shouldn't have just downed this Starbucks though!
