HRV
Get the app.

Graphing.
The design currently only saves to 1 location per day. The timestamp is taken when the test starts, so autostart will take the timestamp at the scheduled time. This means that any saved test will overwrite any previous test of that same day. A day is calculated from the local timezone, so travelling won't disrupt the storage so long as you have updated the timezone before starting the test. The averages are a 30 day mean average.

Description & Explanation
Wouldn't that be nice. Will happen, but might take a while.
This page could be useful.

Notes
- Your device must have firmware that supports Connect IQ Apps.
- You can save the results by creating a log file. To do this you must work out which name has been applied to the HRV app file. The apps are in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. It will be a name something like A6227C9B.PRG. You then create a log file with the same name, e.g /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT. Each reading you save will output a result formatted as ISO8601 date & time, hrv, avg pulse, 30 day hrv avg, 30 day pulse avg.

Thanks, I saw this. It was more a comment that somehow the upgrade results in a duplicate and it might not be related to change in app name you commented on since it has happened twice to me now (unless both times you change the app name somehow).
I was unaware of the usage of app icons. I use a 920 and the icon did not appear to be used. I will look in to it.

Once again thanks, it's purely cosmetic but would be nice to see an icon. I attached a photo sequence showing other icons and then what shows up against the HRV app on the Fenix so you can see:

I think I have figured out what might be happening here. We will find out on next release.

    Hi!

I installed the app but I'm not able to choose from any of the 3 methods of testing (only the timer) and I cannot change the timer either. And after test is done, there is no graphic showing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice but it doesn't change anything. And I have the latest firmware on my 920xt (3.20).

    What could be the problem??

    Thanks

    Yves

P.S. I saved the folder but not able to change it to .TXT

Have you successfully opened the menu? It requires that you press and hold the menu button, if you press the menu button for a short time it will behave like the enter button and cycle through start/stop/save/reset.

I saved the folder but not able to change it to .TXT
You are not required to save or rename any of the folders. You would only rename the *.STR file if you required to transfer your graph results, and even then you would not change the .str extension. The *.txt file is only required for capturing the results in CSV format, and is only used for output, so there is no need to replace this file with a previous version.
  • The previous version worked flawlessly for me on my 920XT but version 1.0 seems totally broken. Even though settings show my HRM strap is connected, the HRV app just says that it is saving battery and moves immediately to the time screen after less than a second. If I keep trying to navigate back to the test screen, it crashes and the watch reboots. Any idea what is causing this behavior and what I might do to address it? Or if it is possible to revert to a previous version of the software, since that worked fine?

The Green timer is kicking in. It's basically a screen saver type function. Just navigate the menu to Settings > Green timer > Timeout & change the value.

No problem. Actually, calling it a screen saver was slightly misleading. It's a battery saver. Turns ANT off and reduces screen updates from every second to every minute.
