HRV
Get the app.

Graphing.
The design currently only saves to 1 location per day. The timestamp is taken when the test starts, so autostart will take the timestamp at the scheduled time. This means that any saved test will overwrite any previous test of that same day. A day is calculated from the local timezone, so travelling won't disrupt the storage so long as you have updated the timezone before starting the test. The averages are a 30 day mean average.

Description & Explanation
Wouldn't that be nice. Will happen, but might take a while.

Notes
- Your device must have firmware that supports Connect IQ Apps.
- You can save the results by creating a log file. To do this you must work out which name has been applied to the HRV app file. The apps are in the /GARMIN/APPS folder. It will be a name something like A6227C9B.PRG. You then create a log file with the same name, e.g /GARMIN/APPS/LOGS/A6227C9B.TXT. Each reading you save will output a result formatted as ISO8601 date & time, hrv, avg pulse, 30 day hrv avg, 30 day pulse avg.
  • Been discussed a few times before, the optical HRM just isn't accurate enough for that.
  • Forerunner with chest strap

Hi, thanks for the reply, I use the Forerunner 235 with a chest strap, which I guess would give the accuracy? Just seems a shame to have to look at buying a polar chest strap to get HRV as I can't afford to get another watch. Do you have any thoughts on a solution?
    Thanks Lou
  • Since you probably have a smartphone all you need is a cheap Bluetooth strap like the 60beat one and a free app like Elite HRV (Android/iOS) or HRV+ (iOS). HRV is a bit of a "novelty" though...I was quite sold on it when I started training heavily for marathons a couple of years ago but I don't think I've run a single test for 6+ months.
  • I am interested in HRW and would really like to use it on my Vivoactive HR. Is this possible?

I would like too, but i wait since a half year - nothing :(

Hi, someone knows what happened with the app that it was removed from Connect IQ store?
    Thanks.

I don't know, I was looking up the app in the shop for explanation of the measurement and the meaning of the value, and then I could not locate it anymore. On this forum I found some additional information on the value, but I am not sure whether the rmssd = 1.0512712^hrv represents a reliable value. Since I get HRV values of 110-115 which result in an rmssd of 250+ (resting heart rate approx 32)

I will zealously guard the HRV App on my watch since it is always working, the Garmin stress test app does not when I am at very low heart rates.
