Hi everyone,

I'd like to share Mariner, an analog dive-watch face for round AMOLED Garmins. I wear a Garmin for training but missed the look of a proper diver, so I built one.

What's on the dial

  • 60-minute dive bezel, lume pip at 12, sword minute hand, lollipop seconds hand, pierced hour hand
  • Day and date windows
  • Current temperature with a weather icon and the day's high/low
  • A data window at 9 o'clock and a data line below centre: heart rate, Body Battery, stress, calories, steps or floors
  • Battery gauge built into the emblem

Make it yours

  • 4 bezel colours (black, navy, green, burgundy) and 6 accent colours
  • Every element can be turned on or off
  • Set it in the Connect IQ app, or on the watch with Garmin's face editor (fenix 8, FR970/570/170/70, Venu 4, vivoactive 6, D2 Mach 2)
  • Touch and hold the weather or a data window to open the matching Garmin widget

A few build notes, for the developers here

  • No bitmaps for the dial: bezel, indices and hands are all drawn with Dc calls and scaled per device, so it's sharp from 360 to 454 px.
  • Data is read through Complications (including Body Battery and stress), and hold-to-launch uses Complications.exitTo().
  • Always-on mode drops to outlines of the real hands plus four quadrant plots, and shifts a few pixels each minute to avoid burn-in.
  • Watches without vector fonts get bundled bitmap fonts (1.0.3), which fixed the text on a handful of older AMOLED models.

Watches: Forerunner 965/970/570/265/165/170/70, fenix 8, 8 Pro and E, epix (Gen 2) and epix Pro, Venu 2/3/4, vivoactive 5/6, Instinct 3 AMOLED, MARQ (Gen 2), D2, Descent and Approach models - check the store list for your exact watch. MIP screens (fenix 7, FR255/955) are next on the list.

It's a paid face; the free trial listing runs the full face for 24 hours so you can try it on your own wrist first.

Feedback very welcome, especially from anyone on a watch I haven't been able to test on hardware - let me know if anything looks off. I'll post updates in this thread.

Thanks for looking!
