HRV+ is a Garmin Connect IQ app for deliberate, timestamped HRV measurements.
Instead of relying only on passive daily summaries, HRV+ lets the user create a controlled measurement event at a specific point in time and capture:
- RMSSD
- mean HR
- measurement duration
- signal quality / motion context
- exact timestamp for later correlation
The interesting part is not the isolated session itself. The session becomes much more useful when it is combined with the longitudinal data already available from Garmin:
(for that just connect the App with the DreamDoc Backend and HRV+ is generating reports correlated with your Garmin health data)
- overnight HRV
- resting HR
- sleep
- stress
- respiration
- activity / workouts
- recovery-related trends
- personal baseline changes over time
So the HRV session becomes an event marker inside a physiological time series.
Examples:
08:10 — morning HRV test
previous night — reduced sleep duration, elevated overnight stress
previous 48 h — higher training load
current result — RMSSD below individual baseline
Or:
18:00 — pre-intervention HRV
18:20 — breathing / recovery session
18:25 — post-intervention HRV
Now you can compare an intervention against the person’s own recent physiological state instead of interpreting one number in isolation.
That is also how we use the data in DreamDoc: combining active measurements + passive longitudinal wearable data + personal baselines to detect meaningful changes and understand context around them.
HRV+ is free on Garmin Connect IQ:

I’m particularly interested in feedback from people working with HRV analytics, recovery models, physiological time-series data or health data in general.
