Hi everyone,
I’m excited to share GarmEmergency, an app designed to provide peace of mind for runners, cyclists, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who wants quick-access emergency details right on their wrist.
What is GarmEmergency?
GarmEmergency turns your Garmin smartwatch into a vital In Case of Emergency (ICE) / Medical ID card. It generates and displays a clear QR code directly on your screen that any standard smartphone camera can scan instantly—no special app or third-party scanner required for first responders or bystanders.
Key Features:
-
100% Offline Availability: Once set up, the QR code is generated/stored on the device. You don’t need your phone with you during solo runs, rides, or hikes.
-
Instant Vital Info: Direct access to emergency contacts, blood type, severe allergies, current medications, and pre-existing medical conditions (diabetes, asthma, heart conditions, etc.).
-
Universal Compatibility: High-contrast QR display optimized for various screen types (AMOLED, MIP displays).
-
Privacy & Simple Setup: Easy configuration through the Garmin Connect app settings.
Links & Media:
-
Store Link: GarmEmergency on Connect IQ Store (Feel free to insert 1 or 2 screenshots here: the QR code on the watch + the emergency profile layout on a smartphone)
Looking for Feedback!
I’d love to hear your thoughts, test feedback across different Garmin models, or suggestions for upcoming updates:
-
Are there specific data fields or emergency parameters you’d like added?
-
Any feedback on screen readability under direct sunlight?
Thanks for checking it out and stay safe out there!
