I live in a hilly area and always wondered how many feet are climbed in a year. So, why not build an app? ;)
I’ve been building Summiter, a little watch app that turns your daily Garmin floor count into a climb through famous structures around the world. You start at the Statue of Liberty, keep climbing, and work your way through progressively bigger milestones—each with its own height, progress target, and bit of context. It’s meant to make the “floors climbed” metric feel a little less like a buried stat and a little more like an ongoing mini-adventure.
I also added a compact glance so you can check your current landmark and progress without opening the full app, plus options for feet/meters and whether progress should be cumulative or reset for each milestone. It was a fun excuse to work with the newer super-app/glance setup in Connect IQ, and I’d love to hear what other developers think—especially ideas for landmarks, progression, or UI polish. This was a hugely fun experience. https://apps.garmin.com/apps/1530fc2c-0fcb-4aff-bbb6-2400f35fa518
