Flat Earth is a watchface designed to show the real time shading of the sun and day / night across our planet. It uses a circular map projection combined with realtime calculation of the sun's position to shade or alter your view of the Earth depending on the time of day and year. Multiple images of Earth are usable as the basemap image, including a realistic night view which blends both daytime and nighttime imagery. An optional orbit view shows the annual orbit of Earth around the Sun, with the Earth viewed from the North Pole and rotating in realtime to show which side is facing the sun, while the current month is highlighted along the orbital path.
The effect is not only visually beautiful but functionally useful--at a quick glance, you can instantly see whether any given place of interest is currently in day or night, whether it is approaching sunset or sunrise, and the effect of winter or summer as the sun passes over the equator and the seasons change. It can replace dual time zones with a visual representation, simply glance at the map to see the approximate time of day anywhere on Earth. A simple look at the orbit view tracks the progress of the current year.
Your own location is marked by a blue triangle. Contextual weather icons intuitively display the current weather forecast at your location. A sun marker tracks the current position of the sun. An optional second time zone location can be set, marked with a blue dot and an indication displaying time at that location.
There are 4 customizable data fields with user choices to display any of the following: Sunrise/Sunset, Heart Rate, Respiration Rate, Intensity Minutes, Active Calories, Daily Calories, Pulse Ox, Steps, Floors Climbed, Distance, Altitude, Notifications, Weather High/Low Temp, Weather Current Temp, Body Battery, Stress, Barometric Pressure, Recovery Time, Wind Speed, Wind Direction, Running Distance, Cycling Distance and Battery Percentage.
Further user options include radial or numeric seconds display, Bluetooth status icon, and grayscale datafield icons.
