Looking for feedback: Burnout Detector (Connect IQ App)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a small Connect IQ app called Burnout Detector and I’d really appreciate some feedback from the community.

The idea is to combine several wellness metrics already available on Garmin devices—such as HRV, Stress, Body Battery and Resting Heart Rate—into a simple daily burnout risk score.

Current features include:

  • Daily burnout score (0–100)
  • Color-coded risk gauge
  • Individual factor breakdown
  • Multi-day trend
  • Short daily insight
  • Runs completely on the watch (no account required)

I’m mainly looking for feedback on:

  • Is the score easy to understand?
  • Does the UI feel intuitive?
  • What information would you like to see added?

This is a personal side project and I’m continuously improving it based on user feedback.

The app is available here:

Thank you for your time. Any suggestions or criticism are very welcome.

  • I like the principle, but I'm pretty sure you need some other input.  For instance top end sprint speed/power (which is one of my Central Nervous System assessment metrics) I'm also looking at including a grip measurement for daily CNS evaluation, also what the easy pace (grade adjusted) vs HR is (corrected for temperature and humidity) compared to normal.  Good luck, I DO like where you're going with this. I'll download and give it a try.  Also you may need some way to verify the thresholds.. perhaps ask for volunteers to help test and refine thresholds.

  • I just stumbled upon this topic and regst to give my opinion.
I was once running into a burnout without realizing. That’s the tricky thing about burnout. I was doing structured running and also a lot of bodyweight workouts back then. All body markers the Fenix 2 could meassure back then where fine. All training load metrics we used back then were fine.
I got only diagnosed because i was at my doctor because of a flu i had and when she asked how i felt overall, i gave an surpisingly open answer. Half an hour later i had a working diagnosis and a doctors note for 4 weeks with the good advice to find me a better job.
Now im far from burning out but being a dad of two young kids triggers all the biometric markers i would suspect a burnout would also trigger.

We really need to take care of our mental health but i think a daily reminder to do an honest conversation with a person you trust will help more.
