[App] CaliMaster Pro - Calisthenics & Street Lifting App with Web Integration

Hello Connect IQ Community!

I am excited to introduce CaliMaster Pro, a complete workout tracking ecosystem designed specifically for Calisthenics, Street Lifting, and functional high-intensity training.

The Backstory: Why I Built This App

As a certified Calisthenics Instructor and health professional, I spent weeks trying to adapt Garmin’s native "Strength" activity to typical calisthenics training. My goal was simple: I wanted to combine the premium quality of Garmin’s sensors and tracking algorithms with the ability to work out without carrying any training schedule to remember my exercises and update my progress. Furthermore, I wanted to leverage that data to calculate key metrics for long-term growth and performance improvement.

However, I constantly ran into major limitations with the native setup, which ultimately drove me to develop CaliMaster Pro:

  • Missing Exercise Database & Hidden Notes: The native list completely lacks specific calisthenics movements. While Garmin provides a "Notes" field, the watch face during a workout still displays the generic, closest-matching exercise name, completely hiding the actual custom note with the real exercise name when you need it mid-session.

  • No Countdown for Isometric Holds: Native apps lack a proper preparatory countdown. For intense bodyweight holds, you need a few seconds to scale into position and stabilize before the timer actually starts.

  • Lack of Specialized Haptic Feedback: I needed smart, automated vibration cues to signal the exact start, midpoint, and end of isometric holds, as well as distinct alerts when rest times are ending or when it’s time to launch into the next set.

  • Clunky Data Entry: Logging repetitions, isometric hold durations, and added weights (KGs) on native Garmin screens is not so good. I redesigned the user interface to make entering this data fast and seamless between sets.

What is CaliMaster Pro?

CaliMaster Pro is a complete training ecosystem that bridges the gap between structured routine planning and premium biometric tracking. By uniting a powerful web platform with Garmin’s elite sensors and portability, it offers a seamless workflow: you use the webapp to design your custom workout plan, analyze execution data, and monitor long-term performance trends, while your Garmin watch acts as the ultimate real-time monitoring and recording tool.

Connecting the watch to your web profile is effortless—it requires a single, unique pairing code, and the two platforms automatically sync in the background as soon as you save your session.

With CaliMaster Pro on your wrist, your watch is fully equipped to:

  • Handle Advanced Protocols: Seamlessly run classic Set & Reps routines, structured Interval Training, and precise EMOM circuits.

  • Manage Rest Periods: Automate transition timers and countdowns between sets.

  • Track Strength & Static Metrics: Keep accurate logs of repetitions performed, exact seconds of isometric holds, and the specific load (KGs) of added weight used during your sessions.

Requirements & Device Support:

The app requires a registered account on our official website(https://www.calimasterpro.com): you can test the full-featured version during a 7-day free trial. Once the trial ends, the app remains free for life with a few basic limitations, or you can choose to unlock the complete Pro experience forever by purchasing a one-time lifetime license.

I would love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or answer any questions about the app!

Enjoy your training,

Giovanni

    Changelog:

    v1.2.1

    • Expanded Support: Compatible with all modern and legacy Garmin devices (native support starting from Connect IQ API 3.3.0).

    v1.1.3

    • Bug fixes

    v1.1.2

    • Automatic Synchronization: Upon completing a workout, the session is immediately sent to the WebApp in the background, eliminating the need to trigger a manual sync from the settings menu.
    • Pause Menu Timeout: Implemented an auto-dismiss feature for the options/pause menu to prevent unintentional training interruptions caused by accidental screen taps during intense sets.

    v1.1.1

    • UI Optimization: Moved synchronization and Pairing Code management into a new dedicated "Settings" submenu, keeping the main screen clean and strictly focused on your workouts.
    • On-Device Control Center: Added the ability to modify and cycle through all app settings (units, preparation times, vibration alerts) directly from the watch screen in real time.
    • Stability Improvements: Optimized memory management during dynamic menu navigation.

    v1.1.0

    • Advanced settings synchronization directly from Garmin Connect (Pairing Code, KG/LBS units, preparation countdown, vibration intensity).
    • New options for isometric training: customize your preparation countdown before each set (3s, 5s, 10s).
    • Advanced haptic feedback control: adjust vibration intensity (Light, Standard, Strong) or toggle halfway alerts and countdown signals.
    • Improved workout flow: screen-tap during exercises now securely opens an in-workout menu to prevent accidental skips (Resume, Skip, Stop Workout).

    v1.0.0

Full support for tracking Calisthenics, Street Lifting, HIIT circuits, Tabata, EMOM, and Interval Training. Instant workout synchronization with the web platform.

  • Hi everyone,

When I initially launched the app, I intentionally targeted a very narrow list of devices in the manifest to closely monitor initial stability, memory usage, and backend sync behavior.

After analyzing the performance data and making sure that the RAM footprint is highly optimized (even for low-memory legacy devices), I have officially expanded the support!

Version 1.2.1 is now live, and it brings near-universal compatibility for all Garmin devices running Connect IQ API 3.3.0 or higher. This includes everything from classic workhorses like the Forerunner 245 to the newest AMOLED devices (Venu 3, Forerunner 165/265, vívoactive 5/6, etc.). If your device wasn't supported yesterday, it most likely is today! Looking forward to your feedback, especially from those using older or smaller devices.

    Enjoy your training! Muscle
