HR Runner, Pace Runner & HR Cycler

I created a few data fields for myself.

Mainly I wanted to use color to see at a glance what HR/Pace Zone I'm running/cycling in, and to give me an indication of estimated hrTSS since my training plan is on Training Peaks and TSS/ATL/CTL etc. is a part of what my running coach uses to guide my triaining.

If anyone else is using one of them, you can let me know here if you encounter any issues.
  • I've added a Guided workout feature to the VivoactiveHR version of the app (https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/d083af67-9f87-44de-afb6-ff4b40cc7351), it's in Beta for now, but seems to be working well enough.
  • Hello,

I noticed that the HR zones and colors are wrong. They do not correspond to my user settings by a few bpm.

    Hi, Thanks for the feedback.

I use Trainingpeaks to track most of my training, and one of the reasons I built this data field was to align my training more with my training peaks training plans etc. one of the main differences is that TrainingPeaks uses the Joel Friel 7 HR zones instead of Garmin's 5 Zones. which I calculate in the app. this is likely why you're seeing a slight difference.

I'll probably add an option to choose which HR Formula you want to use i.e. the Default Garming configuration, or the custom Joe Friel one.

Yes, that would be a good idea.
    Thanks for the explanation.
  • Thank you for your app, it's really fantastic with the workout!!

I don't know if it's a problem, the app don't vibrate at each step of the workout however it's vibrate if my heart is too hight for example
The training workout was really the missing function to the vaHR!

    Really grateful !

Hi Paul, thank you very much for this great datafield. So much information on one single screen !!
I'll play with the workout feature ASAP, it's really nice to have interval training available in native Garmin Running app
  • Thanks!

Hi Paul, a really big thank you from me for this data field as well. This is my favorite addition to my Vivoactive HR. I use this data field with all of my runs. The workout builder also worked for me pretty well even though you specified it as beta. However I would also wish for an additional option to switch the Joe Freil heart rate zones to the 5 zone setup that Garmin provides because I use those in most of my workouts for planning them. Nevertheless thank you for the new zone setup as well because before I had no idea about Joe Freil zones and training method and after reading about it I found some useful tips for my running schedules.
  • guided workouts

Thanks for the guided workouts. Where can I find more details regarding developing the structure of the workout? Works well so far (Vivoactive HR)

Edit: Found them at the bottom of the Description!

Sorry about the late reply, it's been a busy couple of weeks, you can find more info on the apps description details, and more details and a few examples here.
