For my first watch face, I made a super minimal one inspired by The Power of Now. It pretty much just says NOW. But also it has:

a subtle analogue time around the edge (so one still has the time if one needs it)

a horizon background based on a Rayleigh scattering algorithm that follows sunrise/sunset based on location

AMOLED burn-in protection
It’s kind of weirdly effective. Feels less like checking the time and more like interrupting your own autopilot for a second.
