Now .. Your Heart and the Vivoactive HR device teams up to 'Measure your Sleep'

Get HR Sleep in the Garmin Connect IQ Store here ..

https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/b...2-c9fe3f777fc0

Now measure your Sleep Performance with HR Sleep .. see how your sleep improves over time using your HR data.

Be sure that your battery is charged to at least 30% before running HR Sleep overnight. That green light .. is a little hungry.

Sleep Zones Example ..

Set Minimum Sleep HR - 40

Sleep Zone 0 .. less than 40 bpm
Sleep Zone 1 .. 40 - 43 bpm
Sleep Zone 2 .. 44 - 47 bpm
Sleep Zone 3 .. 48 - 51 bpm
Sleep Zone 4 .. 52 - 55 bpm
Sleep Zone 5 .. over 55 bpm

Thank you ..

    [Version 1.251] Nov 9 / 2018

    - Rolled back to version 1.249. I did not like the changes in the last version. It was not working out well .. and not what I wanted.

    - Altered the movement screen. It looks the same but is more responsive to actual movement. But future change may be needed based on the movement score values.I would like to keep is under 400 for me .. yes, restless sleeper. It will be a few days before I know that the current version is on target as far as how fast the score goes up with movement.
    - Changed order of screen display so it makes a bit more sense. *Rolled back from last version as it broke one of the user settings.

I was asked to describe the user settings .. so here goes. I hope it makes sense. If you have further questions .. feel free to post and I will answer.

There are 10 user settings currently .. and I will try to describe each of them.

    Minimum Sleep HR

This value is used to setup the Sleep Zone values. For example .. if you set it to 45, you will get the following:
You can change the values in Garmin Connect and see the values change in real time. This is the same as all the settings .. but I do not recommend doing so while the app is running. It is best to change some of the setting before starting the app.

    Sleep Zone 0 < 45 bpm
    Sleep Zone 1 45-48 bpm
    Sleep Zone 2 49 - 52 bpm
    Sleep Zone 3 53 - 56 bpm
    Sleep Zone 4 57 - 60 bpm
    Sleep Zone 5 > 60 bpm

    Show Percent In Summary

This will determine if on the summary screen .. whether you will see percentage values or time per sleep zone when you exit the app.

    Show Time On / Off

This will determine if on the main start screen if you will see the time in BIG text only with no current HR value .. or small font time display with current HR value.

    Pause Timeout

This will automatically kick you out of pause mode if it is set. Default is now 300 seconds or 5 minutes. If it is set to 0, then the pause will not exit until you press a button. I prefer the current with pause time .. simply because if you forget to press the button .. it will remain paused, not likely what you may want as the app will totally pause at this point. If set > 0 .. then it will kick out automatically so that you do not have to remember to 'un-pause' it.

    Restore Number

This is used for the Restorative / Non Restorative / Awake screen. You can set a value and it will assign your HR values to one of the 3 areas. If the HR is lower .. it will be considered as restorative. If it is higher .. then it may be Non Restorative. If it is higher yet .. you may see your data classified as awake.

    Insomnia HR Threshold

The insomnia threshold is used to determine when your HR value hits a certain HR threshold. So for example .. if it is set to 40, it will display the time it took for you to hit the HR value of 40 (actual number of hours, seconds and minutes from the time the app was started) as well as the actual time you hit that HR Threshold with AM / PM values.
The movement score is 1 point for every minute .. and will stop increasing when you hit the set Insomnia Threshold value.

    Movement Sensitivity

The movement sensitivity is used to decrease or increase the Movement Score. Movement is detected and this value is used to multiply the movement by this sensitivity value. So the higher the sensitivity value .. the higher the movement score could be, given the same amount of detected movement. The app also detects the amount of change in movement from one second to the next .. and more movement (with the internal sensor in the VAHR), The greater the change .. the higher the movement score is going to be as well as it is taking into account.

    .. Continued ..

    Hide Sleep Zone Values

The hide sleep zone setting is used simply to hide the Sleep Zone value screen. This is the screen that displays data like below (as set with the Minimum Sleep HR value).

    Sleep Zone 0 < 45 bpm
    Sleep Zone 1 45-48 bpm
    Sleep Zone 2 49 - 52 bpm
    Sleep Zone 3 53 - 56 bpm
    Sleep Zone 4 57 - 60 bpm
    Sleep Zone 5 > 60 bpm

Show Start Time On / Off

This allows you to see the actual start time of the application .. to see when you first started the application with AM / PM time values.

    Show > 8 Hours On / Off

This will allow you to see the > 8 hour data by default on the average screen. If set to on .. you can see the data, rather than seeing the overall average data. You can however press and hold the screen to toggle this display of the > 8 hour data.

Summary Confirm Screen On / Off

This screen will be displayed if you press the left button while the application is running. It will force you to confirm whether you want to exit (left button press) or go back (right button press). This is to prevent you from accidentally exiting the application during your sleep. There is a user setting that you can change. The default is ON, so you will see this screen unless you turn it off in Garmin Connect Mobile etc.

Speaking of the option of pressing and holding of the screen, press and hold the screen until the data changes.

There are currently 5 screens where you can change the display of the data based on your desire. The main start screen, you can toggle Minimum and Maximum HR values. The average screen .. you can toggle the display of the 8-10 hour data or overall average HR value. The insomnia screen .. you can toggle the display of the current minimum HR value obtained (the minimum HR value that the VAHR has detected since the app was started) or the elapsed time (time since the app was started). The movement screen you can toggle the total or elapsed time. As well on the Summary screen you can toggle the percentage or the time values for each sleep zone.

    Thanks

    [Version 1.259] Nov 19 / 2018

    - Altered the movement (low / medium / high) screen. The criteria is now changed for low, medium and high values. Low is considered a movement score of < 100, Medium is >= 100 to <= 200 and High is anything higher. This is due to the recent changes in the movement score .. should detect movement better, but the values should be lower. This change puts the above values more in line with what they should be.

    - Added the ability to toggle the summary screen to display the percentage or time values. This is like the others .. press and hold the screen to see the data toggle. Thanks to Horst for this suggestion.

    - Added the ability to toggle the movement screen to display the Total or Elapsed Time values. Likewise, press and hold the screen to see the data toggle. Thanks to me .. for this suggestion. I know .. this one is on me.

    - Altered the Average screen. The hours are now adjusted to > 8 hours to match the movement screen.

You guys can message me if you have suggestions .. I will always consider them, but no promises. I will however not do anything that I feel will substantially alter what the application does, to something that just does not make any sense.

What you displayed is the Garmin sleep data .. HR Sleep does not send any data to Garmin. I checked my Garmin sleep data for the last week and it is just fine. I am running the latest version of HR Sleep and I run it every night with no issues.

I would recommend not putting the lock on .. though in testing it did not prevent the HR Sleep app from working. But if your green sensor is not on (it will stay on continuously when the app is running), you will not get data from the application. I would recommend that you reboot your VivoactiveHR. I see you are not likely using English .. I do not know if that is an issue.

Btw .. I am hoping to make a confirmation screen so that you cannot exit prematurely for example .. if you press the left button. The confirmation .. you would press left on that screen to exit and right button to go back to the application. It is a work in progress .. if I have time, I will do it and release as needed. It will be a user setting .. as I do not want to force this confirmation screen on everyone.

    Thanks

  • Garrmin app change language, when change phone language. I will retake new screenshots in english.
I use heart rate only when go to sleep or training. When read HR data easy can check begin-end point of my sleep.
I begin to use lock screen, why sometime when wakeup HR Sleep is not runing. I think, i click buttons when sleep and exit form app. This happend very rare. With lockscreen this never happend.
