Support Thread for my App BC-1000:

With the App you can display the weight and body fat measured with a Tanita BC-1000 weight scale on a FR920XT.
A FIT file is generated which can be uploaded to Garmin Connect.

Usage:
After starting the App a weight scale is automatically scanned.
If a scale is found follow the instructions on the screen.
To Exit press the Back button.

To enable transfer of body composition data a user ID between 1 and 254 needs to be set in the App-Settings.

  • Good Morning,

I have a problem to understand how the data from the scale BC 1000 can be transferred to Garmin IQ App on my Phone. I am using Fenix 3 HR. The App is installed and the app can find the scale in only one second. The Watch is showing me the weight and that it. When I open the App the watch Synchronise the data. But the Data from the scale are not available in the App. What is the best way to have the data available in the App.

    Thanks

    Hi,

App is working great on 920tx, but I guees wrong "body fat" field is displayed.
If Im comparing with edge 520, all fields are the same as from 920tx bc-1000 app, except from body fat, which is wrong, no way that im 6.2 :)
I have around 11% body fat, edge 520 reads around the same 11% value from the scale.

When acivity is synced to connect, I get this reading:
    metabolic age: 25 years
    body fat: 6.2%
    bone mass: 3.0kg
    muscle mass: 57.7kg
    weight: 64.8kg
    daily cal intake:3610kcal
    viscelar fat rating: 2.0
    physique rating: 8.0
    body watter: 62.0%

Is it possible, that app somehow reads wrong field or parsed it wrong?
I bolded "Body water" also because its suspiciously the same number....

I have configured userd id: 250

    Thank you!

Hi, the weight data is tranferred as an activity named "Tanita" which you should see in Garmin Connect Mobile on your Phone.
Have a look to the pictures in the App Store.
To enable more body data, set the userid to 1 in the Apps-Settings.
  • Fenix 3 and BC 1000

Thank you very much for the fast reply. I changed the ID to 1. But I have no activity on phone and also not on the Fenix watch. It looks like that the app crashed after receiving the data from the scale. On the watch i can see the weight and the body fat for a few seconds. After 3 or 4 seconds I get a black screen on the watch and the watch show me that i can start a new measurement. Is there an error log on the watch where I or you can see what's happen?

    Thanks again

Have you pressed the back button before a new measurement cycle begins?
The back button is needed to save an activity.

The difference may be due to calculation of the activity class.
My App enables athlete mode for calculation if activity class is 8 or higher.

Can you please check you activity class?
Can athlete mode be set on the 520?

I may add a option for setting athlete mode in the App-Settings.

Aha, I see now... you are correct, its activity class thats making a diff, not your app!

I have activity class configured 10, as I train every day, then when I change it to below 8, then readings are the same as 520...
And its seems that 520 doesent take activity class settings from connect, also not an option in device to change it..

I will folow fat % trend from 920tx and your app, I dont need to wake up 520 any more every time :)

    Thanks for your support,
    Cheers!
  • Good Morning again,

I restarted the watch and all is working fine. I dont know why, but its working. :)

One question: Currently als the data stored as a activity. How i can transfer all the data in the right section in Garmin connect? Manually i only can input the weight. Is there a way to transfer the data or is that only for display?

    Thanks again

    Best

Currently the ConnectIQ Application Development Environment does not provide the needed infrastructure to save data in a FIT weight profile.

But you can vote for it:

  • Thanks for the information. I hope that they will open the gate asap. Good look.
So I will use my old broken FR 210 or maybe the Garmin index is an option. But thank you for your effort, great work!
