Following on from the success of the dwMap app on the watches, I've just released routeCourse for Garmin Edge and also for Rino/Oregon.
This uses the new PersistedContent and Intents features of Connect IQ V2.2.1 to download and start routes/courses on the Edge/Rino/Oregon.
It builds on the easy watch-to-web-account linking system I've been using for dwMap, together with the mobile-friendly route planner. Using the new Connect IQ features, you can browse your dynamicWatch routes right on the Edge, and then download/launch them using the normal built-in map and activity recorder feature.
This means that routes can be easily created and downloaded ONLY USING A PHONE and its web browser! There's no awkward syncing needed from Garmin Connect laptop-Garmin Express-Garmin Connect Mobile, nor any need for a computer. A computer browser is of course fully supported too when you want to plan on the bigger screen.
Routes can also be brought in from Strava, Garmin Connect, Ride With GPS, MapMyRun/Ride (although their API seems to be playing up right now) and GPX files.
