Watchface: TrekFace2

Background
This is for all Star Trek fans. When I bought my Garmin Fenix 3 HR and know that the face could be customised, I looked high & low for a LCARS face. However, there is none for this model but for other models instead. And the creator of the LCARS watchface is not keen to develop one for the Fenix series. So, that's how it all started...

This is my first foray into Garmin programming. I've met with a lot of challenges but luckily there are many kind & helpful Garmin experts who are always willing share their experiences and knowledge with newbies like us.

This is my 2nd LCARS TrekFace2.

Features:

1) LCARS UI
2) Time
3) Date
3) Heartbeat
4) Steps taken for today / distance
5) Steps taken bar meter
6) Move bar indicator
8) Battery level percentage
9) Bluetooth connectivity status (Star Trek Logo) - Connect to your phone to see the Star Trek Enterprise Logo! Stay in touch with the ship
10) Message count
  • FrathosCAN,

Thanks for the tip, although when i select the '...' for settings, Garmin Connect crashes. I have yet to try on a alternate computer. Need to steal a lap-top from a mate.

who even knows what Calories are? Of all the field i do not use... to each their own. I am keen to get HR working

    Cheers

Fantastic watch face! I love it. Quick question: What's the number to the right of the step-counter? Thanks!

    Grant_Runner,

As noted in my prior post two up from your message regarding the extra two fields in the step-counter section:
The default display in the bottom section is Calories for both data fields. You have to select the Watch Face in Garmin Connect app, then use Settings to change one of them to Heart Rate.

love it except on the VA3 the red in the HR bleeds into the white making it hard to see. lots of space there (lol) why not increase the size of it. i am a heart patient and it would make it a lot nicer also increasing the update on that would be awesome also.

I also have a Vivoactive 3 which will not display sunrise/sunset information. That line remains blank, even after gps activity. I also am not given the option to show altitude (or anything besides heart rate and calories) in the optional fields, even though the picture posted on the Garmin site indicates that altitude should show up at the bottom. Is this a known Vivoactive 3 problem? If so, is there an anticipated fix?

After an update installed this weekend, I gained the ability to make the bottom data field show altitude. I wish that I had the option to show flights of stairs instead (or, perhaps temperature). The sunrise/sunset area is still blank, however. (While I'm expressing wishes, I'll say that it would be nice to have a small moon phase indicator next to the sunrise/sunset info.) Another current problem is that any attempt to access settings through Garmin Express causes an immediate crash. (I can access the settings through the mobile app on my phone.) This watch face is already quite nice, and has such great potential, so I hope these issues can be addressed soon.
  • Hi there! Really like the app and past versions. I have noticed an issue with the sunrise and sunset being blank even after syncing and gps activation. On connect iq it is not displaying that I have downloaded the app. I am on the Vivoactive 3 with the most up to date software. Thanks for all your efforts in creating the app!

    Hello,
thank you for the beautiful watchface.
But I have a problem with date format. Can you fix it?
I have Vivoactive3 with Czech localization.
    Thanks.

This is really cool... just thinking f there was any possibility of adding seconds to the time?
    Thanks
