description

There is already a few nice sailing apps but this yet another one... =)

This app has
- Race Timer with ISAF starting sequence support
- Cruise view (main)
- Laps view

In **Cruise** mode you can see at one glance actual speed, bearing, max speed and avg speed for last 10 seconds. Also there is a set of helpful indicators, like GPS status, recording status and actual speed vs avg speed, which is very useful for sail trimming.
Moving average of bearing for last 10 sec. could be helpful in long distance cruise.

In **Race Timer** mode you can see remaining seconds till start, actual time and speed. You can also adjust countdown timer by one sec up and down and down to next minute.

In **Laps view** you can see data - max speed, average speed, distance and time of last 20 laps

Waypoint mode is under development.

usage

- In any view press and hold UP button (over 2 sec.) to get access to main menu.
In main menu you can
-- switch to Race Timer mode
-- switch to Cruise mode
-- switch to Laps view
-- change settings, like countdown value for Race Timer, Background Color, Auto recording

In **Cruise** mode
- press start/stop button to start/stop recording. This option available only if GPS signal strong enough (gps indicator yellow or green)
- press back button to add new lap, you can view laps statistic later.

In **Race Timer** mode
- UP button add one second to countdown timer
- DOWN button subtract one second from countdown timer
- BACK button round timer to nearest minute down
- START button start/stop countdown
After countdown ends, app will automatically add one lap (if activity is recording) and will switch back to *Cruise* mode.
To manually exit back to *Cruise* mode, press and hold UP button (over 2 sec.)

In **Laps View** you can see data from last 20 laps. This data stores permanently, even if you close the app and start it again, laps data will be on place
- UP button shows previous lap
- DOWN button scroll to next lap
- BACK button offer you to clear all laps from permanent storage and drop lap counter to zero.

======== 0.65 changes

- add distance covered
- change layout in cruise mode
- max speed calculated as moving average for 3 sec, to avoid fluctuation

======== 0.6 changes

- color countdown progress bar
- new main menu
- permanently stored laps

======== 0.5 changes

- add Race Timer
- fix view issues

======== 0.21

- minor change in UI

    are you going to fix that?
    great job!!
  • Nice looking app. Any other models supported?

    Like the looks of this app, any possibility this could be run on a Garmin 630?

    Hi!
    Thanks for feedback!

    Your 0.0 in distance looks very curiously... All other functions and data works fine?
    It works fine on emulator but I'll check one more time.

    great app
    best regards

    Multiple start events

    Hello there!

    Love your app!

    Regarding the race countdown function:
    Since most RC's at events with multiple starts a day or over the week(end) tend to use a countdown clock that is running in a continuous loop, it would be extremely convenient to have the countdown in the app running in a continuous loop in the background as well (without alarms once the app switches to cruising mode). As a result, you only have to sync once during the event and you can easily predict when a new starting sequence is likely to be started. If a new countdown loop is passed without a signal you know that you will have at least an extra 5 minutes before the next probable sequence will start. There is no need to pick-up the new sequence over and over again! If the alarms are re-activated once you bring up the countdown screen again, you know you are spot-on and good to go for the next race...

    Sensor data (i.e., ANT+, heart rate, compass)

    It would be good if the app can also measure heart rate. Being a trimmer on board, it would be good to see the level of exercise achieved when sailing.
