I'm completely new to the subject of the (Garmin) software development, still I've just "launched" a pet project that lets me drive/initiate the calls from the watch. It's quite primitive but works quite well for me atm. I use it with my Fenix 7 and also had a chance to test it on FR 955. It's not yet available in Connect IQ neither on Play Store (yeah, it employs companion app on Android) - I have a plan to publish it though, later - given that the two platforms are completely new to me, it'll probably will take some time.
Long story short, probably somebody could be interested in this thing as well/could help me with any testing/feedback. I could just build/share .prg for your device, and send you invite to internal testing version of the Android app, for now. If you're a developer, you can build it yourself (yes, it's open-source).
